I'm sorry Melody. I don't understand how people can steal from others either. Our home was broken into last year and not only did they take away some of our stuff but they also took a sense of security away from us too. I hope that you get that dry sink back and that the criminal(s) are caught.

Wow...that is ba**sy!!! : O
I would post a note out on the lawn that whomever STOLE my drink sink is a horrible person and if they had just asked, I probably would have given it to them. Have you scoured the antique stores? Things like that creep me out because it is like people are watching your house.

How sad that this happened! I'd install some sensor lights in that area. How incredibly rude of someone to steal from you. I'd be pissed!! As you cruise around town, be on the lookout. It might be sitting in a yard nearby (if they're stupid enough to steal, then they're prolly stupid enough to leave it in plain sight).

I agree with Leslie, and like Elaine said... I don't get thieves either. But, unfortunatley, that is the NEW 'American Way!' Let someone ELSE work hard at something -- then just walk up and take it away from them. (or sit on your butt and wait for "Big Brother" to cut you a check you didn't work for) ....sigh..... so glad I taught MY kids better than that.
Sorry for your loss Melody, but remember this--- "What goes around, Comes around" --- they'll reap what they sow!!!! Hugs ~~~ Tracy

That really sucks! It is things like that that really make me angry, it is just so nasty. It just puts a horrible taste in your brain. I like to think of my yard as a safe place. I am so sorry you have had this happen,

I'm so sorry that happened to you too. I hope the culprit will feel guilty enough to return it, but don't hold your breath. I can't understand why anyone would steal, I hope they dropped the sink on their foot!

I am so sorry that happened, Melody! What a great sink too! I think you SHOULD report it, because the police can alert antique stores and such. Those people might get caught and hopefully that will prevent others having to go through the same trauma. Having something stolen is so devastating. It really affects your feeling of safety and well being. *hugs*

I agree! you should report it! it could very well have been a dealer who stole it! I am so sorry this happened. thieves just REALLY upset me. I remember years ago...someone came on my MIL's porch and stole all her plants...they were in beautiful pots she had brought back from mexico. The town she lived in wasn't large...and she took one day and drove around and do you know that she found those pots/plants? She marched right up on their porch..knocked on the door and told the people off..grabbed her plants and put them in her vehicle and left, lol. I hope you get your dry sink back!!! |

Melody, sorry that happened to you! We had a break-in many years ago and the only thing taken was an inexpensive watch...the window was open and I think he/she heard us coming home or? I recall the anger I felt at the audacity of that act! Not to mention how you feel when someone enters your personal space just by physically getting to close without being invited!!! UGGG!
I've been trying to post comments on your blog but it won't let me!!!! I have that problem with some other blog pages..maybe it's my computer........ anyway I do stop by to see what you've been up to!

((((Melody)))) I am SO sorry that happened to you girl :( It is sad isn't it, to see something happen like that.
When mom was alive we had a little garden statue, a reading angel. It was in our back garden, we had a little fence around. It was not in plain sight even! When I woke up one morning and wandered in the garden I noticed it gone! I checked everywhere but nope, she was gone and stolen. Too sad. It was not an expensive one or anything, just cute and a gift to my mom from my brother, and that was the saddest part.
And like Laney said, it is your sense of security that is gone!! Again many hugs to you.

Melody,
I am sorry to hear of this. Unbelievable! I too would report it. Don't disregard it. Like Alee said perhaps once reported the police would keep an eye out for it. I think I would let my neighbors know as well. Maybe they saw or heard something, and they too can keep an eye out for you.
Your yard is SO CUTE!

What cultured thieves you have in your neighborhood! If I were you I would take it as a compliment that someone thought enough of your refinished sink to brave coming in your garden to take it. I am sorry, I just find it so strange what people steal.
I agree with all the other comments, report it, put up a sign to the thieves (I think it is safe to assume they walk/drive by your yard often) and put up a motion lights. Maybe on your sign to the thieves you should warn them of Boobie traps. . . I hope a better sink makes it's way to you. Blessings, Heide

I kind of have to laugh about it today....especially seeing my little clay pots placed so gently on the ground (fear of making a noise or just being careful not to break anything??)
Cultured theives....what next?? Should I be complimented on my choice of garden decor????
I am planning on posting a comment in our local newspaper girls, but I love the idea of placing a big old sign in the yard letting them know that I am watching them as well!!
Thanks gals, you all made me feel so much better after my SAD story!!
Definately hugs!

What a horrible experience, Melody! My heart breaks for you. It's especially dreadful that this was something you had created, a little work of art. May it bring its new "owners" no peace until they find a way to restore it to you.
You might want to let the police know about it, if only because such reports establish patterns of behavior that can help them catch criminals.
That's a lovely little yard you have there. I'm sure it attracts a lot of the right kind of attention, too. |

It may be someone who passes that way often - you should put out a BIG sign ON YOUR SHED that says, I know who you are.....that would give them second thoughts!

Melody, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I had someone break into my home and take money from us. They broke the front door window and reached in and opened the door. If they had come in the back door it would of been better. We don't lock the back door. It really is a creepy feeling. I like you would not think to report it but I think the girls who said they would report it are right. It's sad that it's a common accurance.
Hope all your days are Sunnydays. dianebcarterhotmailcom.blogspot.com |
