for the first time I am attemping to make soap. Tonight is rendered the tallow. Tomorrow I will put things together. If anyone has any good tips for me I would welcome the knowledge.

Hi Carla!
Well- first of all, Soap making can be addictive! It is so much fun and it's always facinating to see the materials combine together! My best advice would be to make sure you measure everything by weight, and make sure the lye liquid and the oils are within 10 degrees of each other for best trace.
I tried it and all things worked, I am hooked now I just want to make more and I can hardly wait for the soap to be ready to use. Has anyone made shampoo? If so how have you done it?

I knew it! Soap making is so much fun!
I have made shampoo bars. They work really great if you add castor Oil up to about 15 percent of total content!
Thanks for the tip Alee. I see you are from Billings I used to live in Roundup. Do you have a good recipe to use? I would like to get started on that as well

Here is a good recipe: Health & Shine Shampoo Bar by Marina Tadiello Ingredients [*] Olive oil or pomace Coconut oil Castor oil Shea butter Cocoa butter Unrefined organic avocado oil (at trace) Jojoba oil (at trace) 6% lye discount At trace: essential oil blend of rosemary, geranium, lavender, cedarwood, lemon myrtle, eucalyptus dives (peppermint) Method [*] This oil combination makes for a fast tracing soap mix!
