I am always trying to save money but also buy like "local" meaning the stores around here. I know its a chain but still....my question is what is the least toxic and most natural/friendly things to buy at the dollar general store? This might sound really dumb, but I am like trying to figure and weed through everything. Thanks!

I don't know about Dollar General but our Dollar Tree stores have American made glasses that I buy when needed (Nora breaks glass a lot), and sometimes they have good deals on things like Baking Soda.

~~ Seems like I've seen some organic items in the one near us -- mostly snack items.

Next time try to check out the cereal isle, too -- I think some stores have organic cereals. Just depends on the location. And, if you ask one of the store managers, they may be able to help you locate something. And ask if they'll put some organic items on order for you. It's worth a shot.

I love Dollar General! I shop there several times a week. There are certain items like toliet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, and etc. that you can get much, much cheaper than at the bigger grocery or department stores. And who doesn't like to save money in these times?!
