This is my 1,000th post so I wanted to make it count and am dedicating it to the memory of my dear Mother. I love you and I miss you! She was an awesome woman, and very talented. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and stayed on her knees in prayer and thanksgiving. I looked in the living room just days after we had received her Cancer diagnosis. She had her little arms in the air and was gently twirling and swaying. I said, "Mommy, what are you doing", She answered, "I'm dancing for the Lord". It wasn't coincidence that God took her home on Thanksgiving morning, it was a reminder of all we are to be thankful for. And I'm thankful, so very thankful, that I was blessed with a Mother like mine. I will repost a picture on my blog of the beautiful coverlet she made, and gave to me days before she left. She could do anything she ever tried, and that was from cleaning her own wool to spinning it to weaving it. She taught herself how to do the stained glass just so her best friend wouldn't have to pay to have it done, and Mom done her friends kitchen cabinets in beautiful stained glass with her own pattern. I will post a picture of them soon. She could sew and used to make my clothes and hers. She made my curtains for my little cabin. I could go on and on about the things she's done. But more importantly, she has left behind a great legacy. And she is remembered and her life is celebrated every day. Dance, mommy.... Dance...
Thank you to all you special girls that made my grief easier at that time, and I'm sorry I allowed my grief to keep me away for so long. Blessings to you all, you are very special.
~~Blessings, Mikki Jo

Mikki,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I am thankful that she does know the Lord. A verse that the Lord gave me after my Father passed was this:
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" Psalm 116:15
What a blessing and privilege to have witnessed your Mother praying and praising the Lord!
Congratulations on your 1000th post!

Mikki, the way you feel about your Mother is every Mom's dream. If a woman can leave a legacy like that, she has lived her life and loved her family and honored God and his love in an exceptional way. You know, she lives on in every breath you take. The things you must have learned from her, wow,how amazing how wonderful. I wish I had the privilage of knowing her. But, in a way I feel I do know her, because you have shared her with us. Thank you so much. Mikki you are very much your beloved Mother's daughter.
Hugs, Mary Jane

Mikki, first it is so grand to see you again.
Yippee for 1000!!!!! Can you see the fireworks going off!!!
Best of all was on your 1000 you gave a tribute to your mom. That was the most beautiful tribute I have ever read. The grace that your mother had for the challenges that can her way. She choose to praise in the midst of the trail. What a great lesson to continue to remember. She gave continously in every area and part of her heart. What an amazing legacy for you and your family. And now you are the living legacy from her. Wow girl, just wow!!!!!

Mikki, I just read this and I am so amazed at the love that comes through this post. Wow. To have the love and respect like you have for your wonderful mother is what every mother longs for from their own children. She sounds like the Proverbs 31 woman I long to be like. This gives me hope. My mother is my best friend. I love her so much and can not imagine not having her here to talk to. She's usually the first person I call when I need someone to talk to. It wasn't always like that, though. But the past 30 years she has been the biggest blessing to me. I thank God for her so much. I am so glad you have such wonderful memories of your mother. Thank you for sharing her with us. The world needs more women like her and that is my goal, to be like that.

Kris, I strive to pattern myself after my Mother and the pattern laid out for us in Proverbs. I'm so happy to hear you have such a wonderful relationship with your mom. They are very important in our lives. And when their gone, well, their gone. And I'm so glad I spent my life learning and loving and sharing with mine. It's those memories that make me smile during the times I miss her so. I wonder sometimes if the way I feel will change. I mean sometimes I feel like I'm not normal, because it all still feels so painful and it's been a little over a year. I truely don't think I will ever be the same again. I don't mope and stay depressed, it's just that the pain is a constant, just a reality all the time. My mind does stay consumed a LOT with the absence of her in my life, I really don't think I will ever be the same person I was before. I guess because a big part of me is gone.
~~Blessings, Mikki Jo
