If you posted a comment of who you wanted to nominate on my blog, please email me. I don't know how else to contact you. I thought I could just click on your name and an email option would pop up. I was wrong.
Thank you

I have been looking around the house and cleaning things out.
I came across the quilt I finished in June last year. Well, it is too small for my full size bed. And its really kind of childish. I have a strong, healthy 24 year old daughter. I consider myself very, very blessed. But,she is not into these bright colors.
I had thought of trying to sell it. But then it hit me...I should give it away. Now its not perfect. But I think its ok.
So, I need all your help.

Please go to my blog and nominate someone you know that could use a nice bright cheery quilt for their child.
Let me know why you chose them. I will pick a comment on April 11th. I will then email your for more information such as a name and mailing address.
Thank you all for helping.

I asked my husband and daughter to read all the comments and choose. My daughter actually wanted to cry.
This was a very difficult thing to do. I wish I had a few more quilts to give away. Because if I did, all of the children would have received one.

All the material things I have are nice. But... I can't take them with me. I enjoy making these quilts. But, I don't "need" them. I am not one to sell what I make. I would rather just give it away.

I have packaged up and FedEx-ed out the quilt. It should be delivered this Wednesday.
I will wait until that day to let you all know who received it.

Everyone have a great week!

The package is in the great state of Washington on the truck for delivery!!!! The package should be at the door step no later then 4:30.
This was a very difficult choice. Every child spoken for was more then deserving. Every little snippet of information given to me truly pulled at my heart strings. So I put this incredible task of choosing on my Husband and Daughter.....

I had to put my cat to sleep last week. She was 20 years old. I miss her a lot. Each morning she would sit at the bedroom door waiting for me to get up and feed her. Each evening she would sit with her head poking through the railings as I walked in the house from work. She loved to talk. Meow, meow, meow...Sure I can get another cat. But it would not be the same "Olive". And my daughter just moved out of the house. Maybe she was not home all the time. She worked full time and liked to go out with her friends. But now her room is almost completely empty.
If my daughter ever got sick, and I mean really sick, or something ever happened and I lost her, I don't know what I would do. It makes me tear up just thinking about it. When my husband was sick, I was scared out of my wits. Today when I think about it, it was just a kidney. No big deal right? He is all better now. But in reality, when I am alone and just thinking....I just don't know....I still get scared.

I have sent the quilt to Aria Hayes. Known to some of you as "little Miss Sunshine"
I hope it brings her much joy and happiness. I read the threads. Mom and daughter are amazing. God is watching over you both.

Kathy,

How blessed Aria is! Kathy you have such a kind and loving heart. Sweet little Aria is going to get one huge hug from you and have it forever :)

I am so sorry to hear about your precious Olive. We recently put our dog down. We don't have any children and he was like a child to us. It is very hard. I will be praying for you and your family for comfort during this time.

Tears are just Streaming down my face!!!

I just picked up this thread again yesterday and looked at some of the comments people made on your blog. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY to think that so many of you thought to considered my sweet Aria and have decided to call her Little Miss Sunshine. There are no words for how I feel in this moment. I was so excited for whomever was to receive this and imagine, just imagine how I feel in this moment!

The other stories of those kids...the mom with her husband off to war while she holds the fort down at home with 4 kids and another on the way....I'm speechless thinking about her.. Jessie, you suggested the little girl with Crohn's disease, which is so horrible...chronic and painful. Her life and the life of her family is so different than what most of us have to endure. There are millions millions of children so worthy of this incredible piece of art. I will treasure this and the sentiment that goes along with it.

There is something about facing mortality that connects us all. Aria's story is a very human one. It transcends the experience of cancer in general and her age as well. We all know someone who has died..some one dear and like you said, Kathy, your beloved "Olive" kitty cat. These lives, these beings..they are so meaningful to us and when faced with the threat of one's end, it gives life an entirely new meaning. I am completely changed and for the better, I might add. We must all face mortality at some time or another. When it happens to a child, however, there's a harshness and brutality about the impermanence of life that is profoundly affecting.

I'm learning not be afraid, although I understand the fear within every fiber of my being. I'm learning to relish and savor moments. I'm learning to let go. I'm learning to cling to those moments that create memories and all moments are memories in the making....I'm learning to rid my mind of waste to make room for such memories.

This quilt Kathy is a gift I can't put into words. You, like the colors of this fabric are now intricately woven into the fabric of my life and Aria's life. Just look at what you made and what you are now giving to Aria and to me in celebration of her! Look at how brilliantly beautiful we are to become!!!

From the very depth my soul, I thank you! thank you! thank you!

It is such a humbling honor to be on this end of such an experience..the good and the bad but let me tell you something. The good far outweighs the bad. This is one exquisite example of just that!

May God Bless you! I send you all of me in love and light ~julia

I've been so waiting for this 'big day' and the announcement of the recipient of this beautiful quilt. I'm so happy others felt as I have about Aria. She is Little Miss Sunshine...her beautiful smile just lights up each and every photo.
Makes my heart happy!
