today and if I never touch the stuff again, well, halleluia! Thank you all for being examples of strong women and pointing me in the right direction. I may be kinda loopy but I'm pretty darn plucky as well. They say nothing good was ever achieved without sacrifice, but I feel free--for the first time in ages. I should have done this a long time ago. Thank you bunches!

As in Coca-Cola, right? I say that that is my guilt pleasure...I know it's horrible for me but I figure a few times a month is okay for me! Good luck to you on kicking the habit! :) |

Hahaha, I thought the same thing...soda, right?! Well good for you! You'll probably notice that your intestines feel better, not so much bloating, gurgling, and such. That was the reason I stopped drinking coke. Only have it once in a long while now. Congrats!

Good for you darlin! I think you should mark this date on your calendar and then do something special for yourself in one month to celebrate, then every month thereafter. :)

Yes, my kidneys are very grateful! It's been twenty-four+ hours now and I don't miss it at all. My head feels a little funny but when I think of losing my extra weight--that soda can really pack it on! I used to be a skinny little thing--I don't care about being skinny anymore, just want to be curvy--it'll be nice to fit into my old jeans again...the Coca-Cola company just dropped a little on the stock market-he he- |

I quit back in 2002 and I do have those moments but it was so worth it. Remember any soda pop should be avoided. You will find out there are many more health alternatives out there. Enjoy.

I quit about three weeks ago. Let me tell you this is the hardest thing I have ever done. I am trully an addict to the fizzy, bubbly, stuff. I am being strong though and I refuse to let this control me. Good-luck to you, I hope you the best.

I find what helps me is to either buy natural--no sugar--fruit drinks at the store or else make them myself. The brand I like best is Bolthouse Farms(no GMO's). I also drank two big bottles of water today--felt kind of tired and dragging at work, but now I've recovered and feel fine. I got so much satisfaction out of throwing the stuff away that I never want to drink it again. I just can't see myself supporting the soft drink industry any longer. I haven't entirely given up "bad" foods--still gotta have my pop-tarts once in a while. And yeah, I wish I could drink any man under the table, but I'm not a spring chicken anymore. My way of getting the "coke" taste are: 1st the all-natural green tea sodas, 365 cola, or (my husband's favorite) Emergen-C mixed with carbonated water. Being in the south I will have some good sweet tea sometimes as well. Good luck!

Congratulations! I've quit smoking, quit caffeine, quit everything, but I still drink soda. And you should see my teeth! (Whats left of them) And thats with the diet even! I think anything that will clean an engine is probably NOT good for your teeth.

Congrads Cindy. I had a hard time giving up my soft drinks. But It's been about a year and I can honestly say I am so much better for it. I do break down every once and a while (maybe once every 4 months or so) and have a Root Beer but it sure a long way from 5 or 6 cans or gas station sodas a day. Wish I could kick the coffee habit but I love my one or two cups in the morning. Doesn't even have to have caffeine just need my Java!

The amount of coke I drink in a year, can't even fill up one bottle, lol. I never really liked the stuff anyways, i hardly ever drink pop. I LOVE my coffee too much to give that up though!!
But soft drink, I don't care for that at all!

Regarding making your own soda pop--I think there has been an article about this recently in Mother Earth News. I could be wrong--but you might want to check it out. PS-I have broke down and had a couple rootbeers . But I have been drinking a LOT more water and it's slowly washing all that caffeine out of my system. My head no longer feels fuzzy if I do without, and that was the worst thing. It's hard to quit cold turkey, so I've decided to allow myself a root beer from the natural foods store from time to time. I now feel better since I quit and I seem to have lost a pound or two. More than anything, I feel free--like I'm no longer a slave to that nasty stuff. Just thinking about having a Coke leaves a bad taste in my mouth. They spend an ungodly amount of money to persuade you to irresistibly desire something that isn't even good for you.(If I'm going to irresistibly desire something bad for me, it had better be a manLOL) I never did like being thought of as a "consumer" so this is my revolt. Woo-Hoo!! |

You are an inspiration, I quit the diet Coke over a year ago and then started drinking regular. I have just today quit drinking it and saw your post. Hang in there you can do it and so can I! Pam |

Hi Cindy and Congratulations! I did this 12 years ago for health reasons and it was a good move. Now I hardly ever drink soda. I like to drink water flavored with my therapeutic grade essential oils. Mostly I use the citrus oils and my favorite blend is orange & grapefruit oil. It is very refreshing and I know that I am doing something good for my body as well. ~ ~Ahrisha~ ~

Sure, I'd love to share. I use the essential oils that I have been marketing for 12 years now. If you would like to know more about them and their purity go to my website and watch the Essential Oil Video. Then scroll down to contact me by email if you like. I would only use these oils because of their purity. They are therapeutic grade essential oils. The most potent and purest on the market. I email a quarterly Newsletter if you would like to get on the list just send me your email. The current Newsletter has an article on drinking essential oil water instead of soda. Thanks for asking. ~ ~Ahrisha~ ~

I can't think of one good thing about Coco Cola, and all the other bottled soda stuff on the shelves today. It is sugar and chemicals, zero nutrition, they hurt your body way more that the sugar buzz they seem to relieve and the cans and bottles are filling our land fills. You need a pick me up? Drink a bunch of water, and not from those store bought bottles, get a filter and bottle your own tap water, put it in empty glass juice bottles or buy a stainless steel re-usable container and eat an apple. We need to stop taking the easy, throw away, mentality and put pure fresh juices and food in us and really look at the packaging involved in everything we come in contact with. And coffeeis actually good for your boday as long as it is organic and while you're at it get shade grown and help out our developing neighbor countries.

I am so sorry gals. I just reread my reply to Cindy and realized that I mentioned which oils I like to use best but not the process. So all of you who like to live healthy or are giving up the soda try this. In a 1 liter GLASS bottle. Please do not put essential oils into plastic. They like to detox and melt petrochemicals in the body so you can flush them out, and will leach the plastic into the water. Always use glass. OK? I would like to say here to, always use Therapeutic Grade essential oils. Purity is important so please visit my website.
Fill your glass bottle with pure water and leave 2-3 inches head room. When I do it I add 3 drops of each oil to the bottle. Like I said I love the blend of 3 drops grapefruit oil & 3 drops of orange oil. Mix any that you like. I also like tangerine & lemon. Then shake the bottle for about 1 minute to totally emulisfy the oil and water then pour over ice and enjoy! Know that you are doing so much good for your body by feeding your cells and detoxing petrochemicals by ingesting these pure oils.~ ~Ahrisha~ ~
