Just wanted some feedback before I subscribe...Is it a rinky dinky 60 pg mag with 30 pages of advertisements? Or is it actually a good mag with articles that are longer than 300 characters?...lol... Just tired of gardening mags that aren't worth the trees it takes to print them :)

I don't subscribe, but I do buy the magazine occasionally at the bookstore. It has the average amount of ads in it like any other magazine. I do feel it is worth buying and is very informative. They have some short articles and several that take up 4 or more pages, those include photos. The photography is quite beautiful in this magazine too.
Perhaps your library or a bookstore near you has copies you can go through to help you decide if you will subscribe or not.

I used to subscribe to this magazine, and actually had the subscription for over 10 years. But the editor changed, and changed a few more times, the articles went down the tube, and all I was paying for was far too many advertisements. It's a real shame, 'cause this was one of the better organic magazines in print.
I get some ads in the mail asking me to come back to the magazine, but the last free issue I got was really horrible. I was pretty stunned. It seems like all that matters is the advertising dollars, not about what to do with earwigs in the tomato patch...sigh..

I just signed up for a free trial copy. I'll let you know when I get it. I used to subscribe years ago and it was great. Then when the editor changed the content wasn't as good so I stopped taking it.

I have subscribed to, and saved every issue, (except for a few years we lived in the "city" and had no garden)since the late 70's as a young mother when I first became interested in living closer to nature ... I have never been disappointed. When I have a question on something it is THE source to go to ... they were the pioneers in organic gardening ... back when it was "hippies" who were doing it LOL! I guess now the hippies have grown up and taken over ** You can see what you think and go to http://organicgardening.com/ ... I think I once even saw an option for subscribing to an online version, thus wasting ZERO trees : )
