Thought I would post a picture of My Grandma that was taken in 1914 when she was first married at age 17. Goes nice with the grocery list picture.

Thanks for sharing Nancy-Jo.
What I found most intriguing, besides your grandmothers teeny tiny waist , was the fact that she actually knew how much each item was going to cost. I know that is something that we unfortunately can not do these days. Sometimes I pay $6 for a bag of organic potatoes others times the same bag is $8 and it is like that for nearly every item I purchase lately. It sure makes it hard to keep that grocery budget.

Nancy! What an AWESOME treasure. Your pictures are just wonderful. Wow...this has been the perfect bit of escape for me. I have a cup of coffee and am about to jump in the shower but this little pit stop was just the thing! thank you! Sending love, ~julia

She's very pretty. And are all those items really in the cents column?

So it was her first grocery list keeping house in her new home? That's so sweet. |

How fortunate you are to have these wonderful items from your family history. Oh and that brown transferware dish, oh my Gosh! how lucky are you to have found it. I luv transferware but don't hardly find much up here, that is in good shape. hugz

What wonderful keepsakes. Your grandmother's handwriting looks just like my great aunt's (she was like a grandmother to me) handwriting. I still have some of her "keepings."

Wow what a tiny waist your Grandmother had! Was she wearing a corset? Beautiful picture, thanks for sharing with us.

What a beautiful Picture. My grandmother had a tiny waist too, I guess I didn't inherit that :)

She is very pretty, and I can see you in her face. And perhaps the waist too, but I have never seen you in person!
