I love all things rusty!!! Well, almost all things; they have a history and I love that! Recently while we were cleaning the yard I moved this old rusty set of springs (from an old sofa)yet again! I keep hanging onto it cause I had an idea about 2 yrs ago but just haven't had the time to put it together.
Well this week I FINALLY did it!! At least in part- I was short on some materials that would likely make it better, but you'll get the idea.
I lined the cone-shaped individual springs with hay(spagnum moss would work and look better) and pine straw and filled each cone with potting soil and planted a fresh new beddingplant in each cone! It can lie flat or be leaned up against a wall or tree for height.

THat is absolutely awesome , Autumn! It is so creative. Thank you for sharing as I am one of those girls limited on flower bed and gardening space. Something like this would be great leaning against my house on the deck. Too fun!Very country chic!! hugs

What a great idea! That would be pretty with some vines near the top hanging down. Where did you come up with that? Very ingenious. And I love the chickens. What kind are they?

Autumn - that is an absolutely fantastic idea. How creative you are - and it's precious leaned up against that building with the chickens in the background. Thanks so much for the idea - I'll never look at bed springs the same again!! Great Job and Blessings, Cathy
