I need your advice. We are going to remodel the laundry room and bathroom. 8' x 14' total space, divided at the moment into 2 rooms.

So, rip out the wall that separates them or keep it? Go with a half wall? The washer/dryer can be stacked, and I thought I'd design a cabinet/closet area along one wall for linen storage, etc. to hide the w/d in. We have a 5'6" clawfoot tub and I was thinking the extra space would make it feel more spa-like and open.

I want something useful and enjoyable for us now, but we are planning on eventually selling and moving out to our farm. So I'm trying to think of what would appeal to a future buyer too. Opinions?

Michelle, maybe you should stop by my old farm house and see what I did with my tiny little bathroom when I remodeled it, I uncovered the crawfoot tub and opened up part of a wall to expose part of the back porch and made a laundry room for it. They were in the kitchen!!!! Ugh...it looked like an appliance store. Also if you look in my blog a little ways back there is a current pic of the bathroom. email me if you want. Have fun!

Find your joy and live it. http://cheneybaglady.blogspot.com/http://www.kpaints.etsy.com FG #377

Is it your only bathroom or your main bathroom? In that case I would say keep them seperate. For me my bathroom, mainly the tub, is where I go to relax. If I had to stare at dirty laundry I wouldn't relax much.

I would DIE for a claw foot tub!!!!(Then I guess it wouldn't do ma any good anymore!)

Thanks. I ran my ideas by DH and with the eye rolling and calculations mounting, we decided to go with separate rooms. It is the main one for the house, there is another full bath but it is smaller. We're going to a salvage sales yard this weekend to see if we can find a set of transome windows. Maybe that will give me the extra light and ventillation I was hoping for. I'll keep the master spa bath idea for the future home to build at the farm later.
