I've noticed that sometimes the lines that outline a blog's header, or banner, interfere with the backgrounds. Anyone using the Blogger Template Minima that doesn't like the lines around their header (banner), below is an easy way to remove them. (I'm not sure how it works with other templates but it should be very similar.) I find that the Blogger's Minima template is one of the most basic looks but it allows you to make easy changes in personalizing your page.

My blog page (Curly Willows Ranch) shows how to remove these from your
HTML.....IT'S EASY!

That's the template that I use..I've gone into the HTML and removed the header border, changed the widths of my columns and a few other things..

Do you know how to take that template and add a third column to it?? or do you know of a 3 column blogger template...I've found a few but I want the columns width each to be atleast 275-300pixels..

Let me know what you know...
Stephanie

Hey, I looked at your tut...you can also just replace the *1* with a *0* and leave the code line alone. That's what I did in case I was getting ready to make a boo-boo..LOL

Sorry, Sephanie but I'm not very savvy with this type of stuff....hopefully one of the other girls can help....I'd like to know this info also! (good idea on just changing the number
instead of removing the code.)

Let's wish us luck!

Hey, I did find the service for a 3 column blog...very reasonable and they assure the you will not lose any gadgets, pictures or archives.

Cheryl, You can see what I mean by a 3 column, your blogs are both 2 column.

Hmmm...I may be wrong but a 3 column page has NOTHING to do with backgrounds that you can upload...it has to do with your Blogger template that you choose. Three columns means exactly that ...that you have 3 columns of type THAT YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF...

On mine I'm in control of 2.....my actual blog and my sidebar.......that's it.

Let me know if I need to stand corrected!

That's right, Carol..the template is the skeleton of your blog so to speak..everything evolves from how your template is layed out.

I'm waiting to hear back from the girl about creating my 3 column blog template. There are many free ones out there but the few times I tryed uploading one on a blog that I don't use much it always messed up all of my links..so having someone that knows exactly what to do and at such a reasonable cost you just can't go wrong!

Hey there,

I thought I'd share the progress on my blog
template change...we were talking about them
and how or where to go for getting them changed.

The ladies at the cutest blog on the block have
been great to work with. They do just as you ask
and are very pleasant and fast.

I did see at their website that they have tutorial
showing how to modify one of the blogger templates
to a 3 column...I figured by the time I messed with
and screwed it up and then had to pay them to
straighten it back out that I was better off letting
them do it to begin with..LOL

So anyhow....go take a look please..I think it's looking
good...I designed my own header and they are going to add
some layering effects to it with some designs I've sent
to them..hopefully by mid week that'll be finished. I also
created the little crowns that you see seperating certain
areas..that was easily done in my graphics program.

Thanks for looking,
Stephanie
