I just wanted to say thank you to the farmgirls tonight. I have been feeling very alone in the real world as far as my family is concerned, and coming on this forum everyday has become really important to me. I know it's the internet and all, and sometimes I don't even know if what i'm saying matters, or if anyone is listening...but I just love hearing what you all have to say, reading about everyones crafts, families, stories, farms, businesses, dreams. There is a really special group of ladies on here. I hope i get to meet some of you in person some day. But truly....thank you....for being honest and real and helping me feel like I am a part of a sisterhood. All the love Judes

Aww.. You're awesome! I know where you are coming from right now and this group has really helped me see the good in people too. Everybody needs someone sometimes and this is a great place to find just the thing to make you feel better...

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive. |

I couldn't agree more....I don't think it matters what form your love and support comes in as long as it is present and you feel it. I have been pretty excited about his forum too.....The friendliness and kindness is ever present and a very welcome addition to my life. I think you are on to something with the Chicken Soup thing....maybe a book of collected farm stories from various "farm girls"....how refreshing and fun that would be to read and make....Sounds like a chapter project!! Peace,
Stacy

Jude, as I sat down at the computer this morning, I was feeling the same things you wrote about and then I came to your post. This forum too has helped me through some rough times. Believe me, everyone and what they have to say matters. Thank you so much for sharing your feelings. |

farmgirls .. i have been so very blessed to have a close family .. i can't even imagine what it would be like to feel saddened by family members .. but want you all to know that 'friends' can, indeed, be a part of our family world. i have some girlfriends that i love as much as my own precious sister .. and oh dear gawd .. how i do love her!
reminds me of a story that happened long ago. my nannie told my sister and i that she wished we were 'closer' .. we just looked at each other in astonishment .. hugged each other and hugged nannie .. and shasha (my sister) told her .. "Nannie .. we don't have to have everything in common to be close .. we are sisters" ... (shasha is a quiet, gentlewoman totally content to sit in her garden .. and i am a 'wild child' that must seek adventure all over the place)
i've come to believe that we don't have to have the same 'blood coursing through our veins' in order to be 'sisters'. the farmgirls connection is a true sisterhood and it is a good feeling that we are all here for each other.
when you are sad and blue .. know that you are loved. xo, frannie

Jude,
You brought tears to my eyes. We all were drawn to this website because even though we are all different and come from different places, we are kindred spirits (I love Anne of Green Gables). Sometimes family can be rough. But you always have us. We are your family too.

Jude - glad you found this place. It has been a real source of warmth and strength to me, too, and the women here continually seem to grow more "real". And I have never seen one of them!!! Amazing. Hang in there. Look for the joy (it can be hard) but it can be found, even in glimmers.
