Dear Ladies,
Guess what I'm about to do? I'm ready to give new life and purpose to an old piano.
A few months ago my husband and I were given an old baby grand piano. It was very old and it was going to cost a small fortune to get it fixed.
As my husband began to take the piano apart I asked him to save the shell of it for me. He asked why? "I want to use it for a box garden," I said. I had already planned on planting a box garden this spring, and as I looked at the shell of the piano I kept thinking to myself, I can use that shell for a box garden too. My garden will have an interesting shape, but what a great way to recycle something.
I'll have a musical garden. I can't wait to use it!

God bless

It sounds like a cute idea, But oh how I love piano's especially a grand one. I love the garden idea also. That would be a tough choice for me and I don't even play the piano. I hope you post pictures I think it will look great.

You might need to reinforce the wood of the baby grand so it can stand up to the weight of wet soil and produce. Also you might consider giving the wood some sort of water proofing layer or varnish of some sort as well.

We had an old upright piano years and years ago. When we decided to get rid of the old boat my husband took the carved
backboard (?) and recycled it into a headboard for our bed. It's just beautiful...

I have all of the old piano's ivory and ebony keys boxed away heaven knows why...one of these days I will think of what I can recycle those into
