Clara was on Good Morning America yesterday and she's supposed to be on CBS evening news this coming week. It's her great grandson who has been doing the videos. She lives in upstate NY if I remember correctly.

Diana, I'll have to see if I can catch her on the evening news. Thanks for telling us about it. She's a sweet lady, and I do hope she makes more videos.

This little lady is precious. Both of my parents grew up during the depression and I can still remember the stories they use to tell me about how hard things were. I'll be watching her for sure. Some might think these lessons are old fashioned, but o the truths we can learn from them.

God bless

Good ear Sandra! I just read her blog
http://depressioncooking.blogspot.com/
and it says she grew up near Chicago in Melrose Place.
I also see her great grandson has decided to discontinue her youtube series and put out a DVD and, a cookbook in the future. I'll be purchasing the cookbook for sure!

I just started reading this thread although I've looked at the title many times. When I looked at Clara's picture I realized I used to read her blog a year or so back. She is a hoot!! Hope I'm that lively at 92. I'm going to watch her videos on YouTube.

I love Clara! I have been watching her videos for a while and I'm going to order her DVD. I also bought "Grandma's Wartime Kitchen" cookbook with recipes from WWII when items were scarce. I really love learning about the Depression through WWII era of American life.
