Since my hubby has been home on sick leave I have been cooking every day. I can't remember cooking so much. I'm trying new recipes I've had in my box to try forever. Finally getting to use them. I made the best chicken stew the other night with my own home grown chicken. And a really good baked pear desert. I love pears.
It seems like that's all I have done for 3 weeks now. My husband said if I keep cooking like this he may never want to get back to work. But I have really enjoyed this time with him here. He's not been in the way like I thought he might be.
I just made my whole wheat bread and rolls and tried the whole wheat muffins that someone shared the recipe for. Sorry I can't remember who it was. But they are perfect for him being diabetic. They are not sweet at all to me but he says they are so good. So thanks for the recipe.
Anyway, I have not come to the point where I haven't come up with something to eat and I haven't gotten tired of cooking yet. I'm sure there are alot of you out there that have been doing this for years and do get tired of it and run out of ideas. My husband has been driving a truck for almost 19 years, so it's almost like starting over.

Hey Janiee, the recipe is in the haelthy whole wheat muffin thread. You have to go to her blog, I think. I think next time I'll use Tupelo or agave honey for my hubby. I just use local honey this time. But still good.

Kris, it's so sweet to read how you are enjoying these last few weeks - cooking and caring for your husband. My husband has been home since the end of October because of a job lay off. Thankfully, we both enjoy the time together. We've even got to a couple of those jobs that are on the "to do" list.
Have fun with time together. And, please do share some of your menu plans or recipes.
