I belong to a Christian ladies group that meets once a month. I love to make favors for the ladies, something special to take home. I just made one (posted on my blog) but am looking for more ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I will be making at least 30 each time and so will need this to be fairly inexpensive.

Might be more involved than you want, but what about mini-pincushions. They could actually be used as brooches too I guess. I don't have a picture of what I mean, but if you take a circle of fabric, either a nice calico or retro quilt look, or even old wool suit herringbone or something. Stuff with a small amount of wool, and close like a yo yo. With floss, sew ridges, like pumpkins have, up through the middle and around the sides 4 or 5 times and end by tightening two buttons in the center of each side.
It sounds more involved than it is. If you make them to be a finished 2 inch pincushion, they are so cute and favor sized. They can be embellished with a little flower or something at the top button.
If you tighten the ridges fairly well and use wool or a recycled pink or colorful wool sweater, they look more like flowers and can definitely be used as brooches.

Once someone in my quilt group made little needlebooks, They were hearts and inside were a few pages of flannel with pinked edges, and she included a needle in each one . I still have it somewhere, it is very sweet., The outside was red felt.

Angie, I have something that would be perfect! I will have to get the exact saying from my mom, but the main idea is that you take a rock and put it in a piece of pretty fabric and tie with a ribbon! It come with a card that says something to the effect of " put me on your pillow so that when you lay your head down to go to sleep "whack" you will be reminded to talk with God before going to sleep and then put me on the floor at your bed so when you get up "whack" you will be reminded to talk with God before you run off and start your day! It would not cost much at all even to make quite a few!

Allison, Thank you! I need to get some new stuff up! I have some hand spun silk thread and some aprons I need to finish up and list! I have kind of slacked on it lately!
