You are so lucky. It is 9 degrees here in Iowa and there is several foot of snow on the ground. What do you plant in your garden?
morning y'all! that warm weather is gone for now, lol. January-Feb is when we normally start getting our ground ready though down where I live. Then we work it a little before we actually plant. we live in a grassy/weedy area so takes a lot of work to get all that out. anyway...we will plant a couple of types of squash...tomatoes...a few different type peppers....sweet corn...okra....cantaloupe....radishes...carrots....new potatoes.... my dad will plant the peas...purple hull, cream, red rippers. we will probably have to start planting the peas next year. he is getting in bad health but just can't quite give it up yet, you know? there is other stuff we will plant but my fibro brain isn't working yet this morning, lol. Oh...pumpkins...we have never planted pumpkins before but hubby wants to plant some for the grandsons...it will be PawPaw's Pumpkin Patch....so hope that those turn out.
Boy am I jealous. It is -6 here in IL. We have a lot of snow insulating everything outside, so I am hoping my perennials will make a return in spring. I plan to start my seeds in the basement in a few more weeks. I can't wait to see them germinate. It gives me hope during this frigid winter that warmer days will head our way. Just not to soon!
