Well here is what is left of the Hancock Fabric store in Spokane. Many buildings suffered the same damage, roofs collapsing from the weight of the snow...
But hopefully they plan to rebuild.

Is that the one on Sullivan and Sprauge? Or is that up north by five mile?

Nothing sadder than a destroyed fabric store...or yarn shop! Hope they're able to rebuild quickly!

I guess Mother Nature does not understand our need to shop for fabric. I know understand why I have a fabric store in my basement - just in case something like that happens here. Hope your store will be repaired soon. If you are short of fabric I am sure some of us could share a bit - it would be hard but I think I could spare sharing....
Stay warm, safe and prosperous.

I could not locate anyone to see what they did w/the fabric...actually the whole plaza is fenced off so I am guessing they will decide (land owners) whether to rebuild, or "put up a parking lot"!!! This is the store on Francis up in 5 Miles....seems a lot of buildings up in that area sustained damage including Rousars Market whose roof also collaps in... I am pretty well stocked up on fabric....comes from my Girl Scout days,,,,motto: Always Be Prepared! lol! And Grace, you are right, Mama Nature does not care what She destroyes...lol! >^..^<

I wonder if they will contact Habitat for Humanity to re-home the fabric? If it is at all safe and not imbedded with industrial ick from the building collapsing on it, it sure would be good to repurpose. Maybe someone in an insurance company would know...certainly don't want to give away something someone could turn around and sue you over.

Oh, Carol Sue you are a laugh!!! I live in Cheney so I am able to put a little hold on my obsession, a little hold..... However, my daughter just moved up north and I have been in there every day this week and I can just see what will happen when I get a hold of the grandbaby. I'll be at the fabric stores, yarn shops every other day. Ha.
