I loved the "Heart FELT Gifts" article in the latest MJF magazine. Thought I'd try to felt some wool sweaters for some projects. Being a "just make do" and "keep pressin' on" type of girl, I decided that I'd just follow the directions WITHOUT the lingerie laundry bag. What a great way to discover "wool bunnies" all thru the washing machine, dryer, lint trap and your laundry room! NOW I know why the directions called for those lingerie laundry bags!
Silly question - can I use my fabric only sissors on the wool without harming the sissors? Do edges of cut felted wool frey? This is all new to me.

Ann- I don't use a lingerie bag when I felt sweaters. I probably should, but the wool lint that collects in thedryer filter goes outside for the birds to use as nest material. :) You can use your fabric scissors on the wool, and no, it will not fray or unravel. The wool fibers lock together and prevent that from happening. That's the magic of wool.
So, now I can't wait to see what you create with your newly felted wool!!

Ann - I took a class on doing a felted bag and was warned that the wool bunnies can burn out a washing machine pump, I use a zippered pillowcase when I felt anything

I was wondering about the effect on our washer and dryer. A friend knows a girl who always goes to the laundry mat to do her felting. I think that it would be good to even use the laundry bag there just so as to not ruin their machines also.
