I will be modifying Simplicity 7161 (link below), only for financial reasons since Joann has Simplicity in sale this week for $0.99. (btw...whatever happened to the old cents symbol on computers?) And I would like to be surprised with any color bag(okay no neons)

Oh Marian, I have a pink crystal chandalier in my laundry room. With pink curtains and a pink sink skirt to match. The walls are grass green. It's the happiest room in the house!

I hope to be useing Janelles pattern.
My color choice would be "earthtones" No neons or bright colors please.
I does not matter to me which pattern my partner uses.

Now is when I admit the chandalier was bought at a yard sale for $5, brand new no less. My aunt in Illinois, who has a knack for finding treaures for almost nothing, picked it up for me and shipped it; it cost her more to mail it than she paid for it. My laundry room was actually decorated around the chandalier, ha.

BIG question...are we being paired up for the swap beforehand, or are all the bags going ot be swpped at random? I just want to know before I go out & buy the fabric.

I wanted to tell whoever my partner is that I need an extra long handle--for over the shoulder. I walk with a cane and it frees a hand for me to use.
Thank! I'll probably just buy the neutral for the basic bag and then add the ruffles the colors my partner asks for.

I was thinking about that too Linda. A neutral for the bag and the ruffles and lining in the colors my partner likes. But I won't go to town yet, so...who knows, lol.

And good to know these things about the extra long handles :)

Very cute bag! Cannot wait to see all of your creations. I am not a sew savvy person. I like to quilt but have great difficulty trying to follow a tote bag pattern!!

I'm itching to order fabric....I love playing with colors and pattern combinations. Amy Butler is my hero.

Ok, as posted before I will be happy with any color except neon, but to make it easy for my partner I love red.
