Ann, I would like to join your swap. I think we should nominate you "Swap Host Queen". You have the best swaps. I think the purse is very cute. I will be purchasing the pattern. Besides being a fabric freak, I love to buy pattern. And Terri, I love these swaps too. I think what I like the most besides getting to know you all better is the packages at my door. I also love to read all the blogs. Have a great weekend. They are calling for some snow tomorrow. But as a full blood Jersey Girl, Nothing can stop me from driving.

My email Correspondence with the creator of this pattern! She is so so so sweet!
> Subject: We love your bag! > > A bunch of my friends and I chat on a forum online www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz and we love your bag! Some of us are going to make them and then swap them with friends! > > What we are looking for is a pattern that we can buy in the USA. If you could help us, we would really appreciate it! > > Thank you very much! > > Alee
> Hi Alee, > > Thanks so much for my email. I am thrilled that you and your friends like my bag. I am not sure which exact one you are after in pattern form however, here is a link to an online store in the US that stocks my pattern. If you don't see the one there that you are after, just email them and I am sure they would be happy to get it in for you and your friends. > > http://www.treasuredthreadsonline.com/photos/the_janelle_wind_collecti/index.html > > If I can help further, just shoot me an email. Happy stitching, > Janelle > > The Janelle Wind Collection
> Hi Janelle! > > Oh feel so silly! I meant to put which pattern it was we were looking for! We really love the Frilly Dilly bag! I will go to that link you provided! Thanks so much! > > Alee
> > Hi Alee, > > Oh goodness, that's OK. I love that bag too, it is very special to me. I am sure that Treasured Threads has my Frilly Dilly Bag in stock. > > I am working on some new bag designs early this year, so feel free to pop back to my blog whenever you like. > > Take care and happy stitching, > Janelle > > The Janelle Wind Collection
> Janelle- > > You are so talented! My sewing talent is pretty limited to sewing cloth dolls. www.awarmheart.com But your bag is SOOO adorable and fashionable at the same time- I have to attempt it! :D > > If I buy from Treasured Threads does that money come back to you in some way or another? As a fellow crafter I try to make sure that happens. > > Thanks! > > Alee
Hi Alee,
Thank you SO much, I really appreciate your kind words. And thanks for thinking of me, yes I sell my patterns wholesale only so every sale at Threasured Threads does come back to me. Feel free to buy from them, they will take very good care of you I am sure.
Off to check out your blog. And when you and your friends are finished your bags, I would love to see them too.

YAY Alee, that is SO sweet of her, to give the link and taking time to email back and forth! I will not be able to buy the pattern, but looking at the bag it doesn't seem TOO difficult (I hope) to make my own pattern :) SO whoever will be my partner: BE WARE it will be MY take on the pattern, lol. As good and as close as I can get to the original but still.....
Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)

I went to the site to order the pattern. If you are ordering you need to look to the right of the blog page. Email your request to Threasured Threads and they will get back to you with in 24 hours with the cost of shipping. I also purchased the Millie doll. Dont know if I will make it, but the patten will make a great grab bag gift.

Dutchy, as soon as I saw the pink ruffle I knew you'd be in! And I'm so glad! I can't wait to see your creation...
Alee, thanks for getting in touch with Janelle and sharing that story with us. It's always great to talk with the original creator!

Looked this morning for some base patterns - McCall's and Simplicity both have several "Sew Easy" type bag patterns if anyone that's doing their own thing needs a starting place. Simplicity 5151 even has the tie handle.

Hey all....So neat-o that janelle to the time to correspond....Ann....I just knew I had seen a Simplicity pattern that was pretty much the same purse, so thanks for saving me some time by going to store and flipping through books!! I'll probaly go ahead and order the pattern from treasures threads so that way the creator can still profit from my project....I know that i tend to be too frugal at times, but the fact that it was HER original bag that I saw, fell in love with and started asking around for the pattern for...I figured I'll go ahead and order from HER....lol....anyhow....can't wait to get this started!!!! kelley....p.s.....Dutchy, I emailed you!!!....Me |

Yes, I don't think anyone who is in a tight spot financially should stress about the pattern- Boy have I been there! Especially lately! But if any of us can squeeze it out I think it would be nice to buy the original pattern! I can't always do this, but I can right now so I am really excited to support a fellow artisan.

Just came home from JoAnn's - the base of the bag (not the frilly parts) is a Butterick See & Sew, #5273, $2.99

Hugs and Ann that is a wonderful price. Thanks Alee for letting us all know it is NOT mandatory to use that exact pattern, lol :)

Received an email this morning with a great idea (thanks, Kim)...
Please indicate whether you are using Janelle's pattern or your own. We'll split into 2 groups - those using the original, and those of us who are creating our own based on the original. Also, if you have a color preference, please indicate that too.
Thanks!

I will be buying Janelle's pattern (ordering it today) and I love the combination of chocolate brown and turquoise, chocolate brown and pink....or a combination of neutral earthtones. Thanks for asking!
