Whatever else that happens to be your area of Art or self expression may be.

I love to write, I have volumes I have written; speeches, short stories, memories, journals, poems, songs.... I just love to write, not because I am particularly good at it, I am certainly, up to this point not educated in it, but rather because I feel compelled to do so. It seeps out of me, like sap from a tree.

Recently I had a teacher tell me, "the best writers in my opinion are those that study other writers, learning how to move words rhythmically and drawing a mental picture of the topic being penned”. I thought of all the classic writers that I love and could see what he was talking about. Then I did something else, I started re-reading some of the writings of writers we have at the farm and I was mesmerized by what I found... writers like Rebekah Teal and Andrea Vogt and Ardis Eckel, each with unique styles. Rebekah can take a very serious topic and deliver it in such a way that you can still find the humor in the face of tough things, and she remind you that we are all part of the human experience, while Andrea takes you on an adventure that makes you feel like you are there, breathing in the air and the experience while all her writings vary her richness of travel seems to be threaded even in the unspoken and Ardis always makes me feel like you are sitting down to “ tea” with a dear friend and she is graciously introducing us to one of her best of friend, each writer, leaving us "richer" then when we came.

It has been a treat to myself to go back and re-read their "work", their offerings; I have taken each magazine and read only Rebekah's in each magazine, and the Andrea, and then Ardis’. I think this professor was correct that whether it be writing, or sculpting or sewing when we can appreciate those that do it well; we grow.

Maybe that is one of the things about farmgirls that we understand and why we continue to come back to the forum and to each other. It is the brilliance that is YOU strengthen the brightness in ME.
