HI Girls,
I come once again to enlist your prayers tonight. My blood pressure has gotten ridiculously high tonight causing hot flashes, nausea, dizziness. I thought maybe I had a UTI or something, I have almost no doubt now, but anyways, the HBP is making me so sick. Please pray for me.
thanks!

Well, not too long after
I posted; my body decided to declare a full fledged war. I got my bp down just in time to start vomiting and diarhea
(sp?). Tha lasted til about 8:3o this morning. My lower back is still bothering me and I've got a good fever. BP is back, but at least the dizziness is gone. Hubby stayed home today which is a mixed blessing. I thought about going to the ER last night as my asthma kicked in and was giving me a hard time breathing, but I don't have health insurance so unless I'm taking my last breath, I pretty much try to field everything at home and away from the Drs. Hubby is still not working except with my Dad a few hours a week so.... :) That's okay though, things will look up I'm sure. :D
Sure wish I knew what started this all. If its just a tummy bug and bp was part of being sick or what. Thank you for your continued prayers.
Hubby sat me up in bed with my laptop and sewing so I don't have to get up too much. Wasn't that sweet of him?! As soon as I am sure I am over the tummy yuckies, I am going to work on seeing what I can do to get this UTI/kidney infection or whatever it is to go away. :) You prayers are most coveted.

Jessie,
I hope that you go see a doctor about it. The nausea and dizziness associated with the HBP do not sound like anything to play around with. Get thyself to a dr. please.
And yes..I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Jessie, please try to relax and get by yourself for a little while. You seem to have a lot on you right now. Not a bad idea to call a doctor asap.

Sending up a prayer for you. Kris

oh..and avoid all caffeine....wine or chocolate, tea, coke, diet coke , coffee or anything like that.
hot flashes actually do cause the bp to go up a wee bit..when you feel a hot flash coming on..try not to stand or bend over too quickly...to prevent getting dizzy and then nauseated...take things slow.
and yes..see a dr...they can help to determine if it is simply your hormones really out of whack..or if it is indeed your bp..and then can also help determine the cause of the dizziness and nausea.

Jessie- If you do have a kidney infection- don't mess around with it! Go to the doctor's office right away! They can do serious permanent damage! In the mean time drink lots of straight cranberry juice- it has to say 100% cranberry juice on it or the sugars that are added can feed the infection. It helps create an unwelcoming environment for the E-Coli bacteria in your bladder (that which causes UTI's)

Jessie, you are already on my prayer list (thanks to a posting from Denise [levisgrammy]). Alee's right - cranberry juice is great for the kidneys/bladder. Also drink lots of water to keep the toxins flushed out.

Also, check out Oprah's website. I'm not an Oprah fan but Dr. Oz was on yesterday and one of the tips was to see a physician regularly, even if you don't have insurance. He said they would be posting a list of resources on the website so it's worth looking at.

What a sweet husband to set you up with your own work-area-in-bed! I understand the blessing sort-of of having hubby around but it's much better than him not being there. He's obviously very concerned - as we all are.

God bless -

Hi Girls,
I called my midwife today and she gave me a regimine to be doing. She said that the BP can affect the kidneys and make it act like a kidney infection. She was pretty good mad at me, because she said that I knew what I was supposed to be doing and being stubborn about it....lol.
I have been able to use the potty all day, so she said to start with lemonjuice-water and greentea. She said that since the lower back doesn't hurt more when someone taps on it, that she thinks all of the tummy and back pains are related. Though, she said if I didn't get more fluid in me and go potty that she was sending me to the emergency room. So needless to say I am starting to feel like Noah's Ark and about ready to float away, but I hope that something happens soon. What little work my husband does have, he doesn't need to be missing on account of me. :)
She is also going to get with me about helping me get Jersey Kid care and Charity care if I do have to go to the ER.
So, I am trusting God to be the Great Physician and know that He will do His mighty work in me if I am willing to play the game of life a lot smarter.
THank you for your continued prayers and concern.
hugs

Cranberry capsules will help with the bladder and kidney woes and they aren't terribly expensive if you have a natural foods store nearby. I've been fighting a UTI myself and I think I'm winning with the cranberry pills.. As I understand it cranberry changes the Ph balance so that infections have a harder time acting against you. Please go to a doctor if things get any worse. Worried for you.

Annika,
Cranberry is great for UTIs. If you keep drinking water and taking the capsules it should knock it really well. Something else to try is echinacea and garlic. They act as a natural antubiotic. I cant have too much garlic because I have a stomach ulcer, but it used to work when i used it before that. hope it goes away soon.:)
hugs

Hmmmmmmmmm, Jessie, knowing what you should be doing and being stubborn about it. I wouldn't know anything about that at all. No, not me. What? Exercise to help the arthritis pain. No, I can handle it. I'll find a way. Yea, and you know what? Now that I've been moving more - not exercising (stubborn!), just being more active - the pain isn't nearly as great. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...................

So drink that water, girlfriend! It means a lot of trips to the bathroom at first but then your body adjusts. Be a Nike commercial - just do it!

God bless -
