SO what are you finding time to work on these days? I was just sitting here responding to a question that reminded me, I have some Merit badges that I need to get submitted..................and I cant wait to see what you all are working on.
You and me both, Renee! I am still working on my New Year's resolutions! I hit the big 60 on Sunday and so there are LOTS of things I need to be doing and soon.....or else! LOL! I joined last year and have not submitted one badge! I've started on some and finished some but haven't submitted and have not finished my Henhouse badge...shame on me! But this afternoon....hopefully! I'm taking down Christmas decorations inside and out, and I did clean out and clean my closet in my bedroom but I have "miles to go before I sleep" and painting and decorating and also I ordered garden catalogs....this is the time to plan the garden and get those seeds ordered or ready! Good luck with the merit badges! And me too....it is what I WANT to work on! Happy New Year!

Hey SAM.. I feel better knowing I am not the only one.. LOL.. Hey Happy Birthday to you.. I hear that 60 is the NEW 40..............Do you have special "It's my birthday" Plans?
I am working on so much stuff I think my head may explode. My resolution this year is to simplify and it is harder than it sounds. Just try to say No to all those requests foryour time!!!! But I just keep God and my family first and am finding time to knit, sew, quilt, bake etc. The days are full and so much more rewarding than the time I used to spend doing....I don't even know what!!!! I was actually in a mall last week because I took my sister to lunch for her birthday and that's where she wanted to go. I had a headache after about 10 minutes and couldn't wait to get home and DO something
My birthday "plans" usually are devoting the day to re-evaluating my life and the past year and renewing my vows and goals to myself and maybe throwing in a few more. After my birthday came the ice storm which was a definite setback but validated my pioneer spirit! 7 days without electric or heat made me add another goal...to be even MORE self-sufficient and prepared. Lugging all the tree limbs by myself made me feel strong and confident for 60 and I'd been wanting to clean out my freezers and by golly...it was EASY....everything had thawed so I just pitched and they are nice and clean now! LOL! I did manage to finish my sisterhood badge and I have decided to send for the kit to start a chapter here in Horseshoe. I also started a mini-quilt since I have never quilted and I am hand quilting it to get some practice at that. I have done just about everything else BUT quilting. I also looked at your Farmchick blog Rene and what a great group you have! I hope my chapter has as much success and activity as yours! I would like to join Bee Haven Mavens too but is that "virtual" or do you have to be close-by? I tried advancing the cause of CSA here last year and hope to do more this year. I am really into growing heirlooms and just received my Baker Seed catalog and then saw that Emilee Gettle is posting on here too! Anyway....enough about me...what are y'all up to now that is the middle of February already!
