One of my favorite camping memories is waking up to my tent covered with snow and opening it up to see a winter wonderland.

But, though it was freezing, it wasn't below zero.

My two youngest sons (ages 12 and almost 12) will be going on the annual Klondike campout soon..in a few weeks...and my husband has been recruited to go too. They have alot of fun (at least the kids do) and make snow caves to sleep in even! I adore winter..all seasons really....but I don't guess I will do any camping until spring.

My family once was camping back in Utah and woke up to snow on our tent on Memorial weekend. It was about 8 inches of wet snow. My son was 2 at the time and he just loved it. Thought that it snowed just for him. We had heard on the TV that there might be wild weather that weekend and were prepared. He just put on his boots and coat and was ready to make a snowman in the woods. All I wanted to do was stay in the sleeping bag until later that morning. It was kind of warm with the snow on top of the tent. I would rather have a cabin to sleep in if camping in the winter time.
