Here on the eve of the Eve, I have been busy baking my little heart out. I made double batches of sugar cookies, kolacky (apricot, cherry and plum filled) and cranberry walnut tassies. This is the most baking I've ever done in one day! I just took my apron off and plan to have a sampling of each type of cookie with a nice hot cut of coffee.

I hope all the farmgirls are having a wonderful baking day too. It has been snowing like crazy all day here. We are snowed in and loving it! Merry Christmas everyone!

I want to be snowed in :( at your house with cookies and coffee! or anywhere for that matter, just so long as the world slows down just as the snoflakes gently glide to the ground...

You are more then welcome ere Cristine! The world has definitely slowed down today. We are socked in here. They are calling for about 4 more inches tonight! It's the darn sleet & ice that we could do without! Oh well, I just put another pot of coffee on. Maybe just one more cookie for tonight!

Dawn, I have been baking all day as well. I made walnut oat bars (which are smoothered in fudge), Cranberry bars with cream cheese frosting, my moms crescent cookies, dark chocolate fudge with a peppermint white chocolate top and my daughter bless her little heart is upstairs finisheing the sugar cookies which still need to be decorated. We will decorate those tomorrow and I will bake the Chocolate Fruit Cake then as well if I can find the muscovado sugar at whole foods.

Now I need to go off and get that darn christmas stocking finished!

Seems it was the baking day! I baked with my mom also. We did cut out cookies, star cookies, mexican wedding cakes, spritz. I think that was it. Today I need to make Ruby some doggie cookies for her stocking! Hope everything turned out great.

I was baking all yesterday too! It was nice and snug in my kitchen and I was loathe to leave it after I was done!
I made caramel corn, 2 loaves of zucchini/carrot bread, gingerbread cookies, and hot sauce. Today I've got to make dough for the rolls for tomorrow, but I'm at the sewing machine most of today to finish a couple presents.

Everyone's baking sounds so yummy- too bad we couldn't have a cookie exchange ;-)

Wow, you farmgirls baked up some really tasty sounding treats! Sure wish we could all meet up for a cookie swap & hot chocolate! I've done my cookies up on trays to give away. Right now I'm doing my best to ignore them. I bet you can guess what one of my New Years resolutions will be!

1 lb. of sausage fried.
1 cup and 1/2 to 2 cups of grated cheddar cheese.
3 cups of bisquick.
Mix up and you may want to add a litle water.
The mixture will look like biscuit dough.
Take a table spoon measuring and roll in a ball place on a greased cookie sheet.
put in a 350 . degrees oven cook until brown.
I double these they are like little sausage biscuits.
In fact.
Mine always turn out like little round biscuits.
I cannot get them to stay in a ball. Ha.
I bake these every Christmas morning ;
we have these while opening Christmas prestents.
They are Yummy,.
Oh,
You can use hot sausage and strong cheddar cheese.
I cannot have a lot of spices so, I buy the regular sausage.
Hugs Sheila

we live an hour and a half away from my Daughters and I baked Christmas Eve Eve and took death-by-chocolate cookies (for my youngest granddaughter), coconut cream pie, and sweet potatoe cassarole. Then on Christmas morning after the kids opened there gifts, I made 3 breakfast casseroles that were wonderful...It was my first time making them..and the came out great. And then my daughter and I did Christmas dinner. What a day in the kitchen. Today I am doing nothing but what I want to ...wich is nothing.

Whoa Deborah, that was some serious baking you did! I'm sure everyone appreciated it though. Sheila, those sausage balls sound yummy! I'm going to try them out for our New Years Day breakfast. Thank you so much for the recipe!
