Hey Ladies! So I'm not sure where to put this put I have been wanting to post this for a while and I was hoping for a few ideas.... Let me try and sum up some stuff...I got promoted to be a store manager and a coffee, shop. Well not only did I get my own store, I got a new store. Super excited. Last Thursday during the friends and family event my boyfriend came in and proposed to me!Of course I said yes. It was super sweet. He took me out side and proposed to me under the christmas tree. Of course I said yes. So we are getting married, but not for a while. I'm thinking like 2010...I know it is far away but I want to enjoy this time and I want to plan a nice wedding! So here is where I need some tips. I would like to do a winter wedding in like a log cabin/lodge kinda theme, in front of a fire place. As part of a wedding favor, I want to plant little pine trees and have one for everyone on their table, the root be wrapped in a burlap bag. I guess I would consider it a green wedding... So here is my question. Does anyone know where I would be able to get about 100 pine tree seeds. Cuz I'm thinking I Would have to start and plant them now, so that they would be a nice size, but how soon is too soon to plant them. I can't send everyone home with a 5 gallon bucket with a tree in it...All though I did have a good laugh about it! So any recommendations would be greatly apperciated! Happy Holidays!

Congratulations Laura. I was married 4 years ago and it was the best time ever!! Have fun and enjoy planning and getting ready for your big day. What neat ideas for your wedding theme. I have received catalogs before that have tree seeds ect but I can't remember the name of them! I would google "pine tree seeds" or the like and see what all you come up with. Also I would try to check out greenhouses in your area this spring because if you tell them what you are doing they may offer you a bulk price or special pricing. Good luck with everything and best wishes for a happy marriage. |

Idaho department of the interior has sales of pine seedlings every year. The are in lots of 100 now that been said When my daughter got married we also did the take a live plant home thing we/I got to plant some 50 plants as she did not have the room. And people didn't want or have an area to put a new tree.I just couldn't let them die.

Congrats! What a wonderful time in your life. Usually conifers are slow growing so I don't think you will have to worry too much about them becoming giganto, you could check your local conservation district, I know our has a sale every fall.
