We are in the process of turning our barn into our shop....NO, it does not smell like a goat....teehee!
It is all insulated and has a woodstove, wow, it is nice and toasty..now to finish Christmas projects.

We have a HUGE barn, one of the biggest in the county (it can hold over 300 tons of hay!). My husbands grandpa had it built to his specifications back in the 60's-- and boy is it built to LAST! (though it DOES need some new doors!). It used to be an old dairy barn complete with the cement troughs on either side for cows to eat out of (while their heads were locked in the stanchions for milking) and the old grain pulleys still hang from the ceiling--- the system was used to pour the grain into the feeders so it didn't have to be done by hand. Quite an invention! My husband turned the whole front half into a shop for working on Semi trucks and farm equipment when he had his own business several years ago (along with working a REGULAR job!!!).
Right now there is a big bob tail truck he uses for storage, a tow truck, several TONS of hay, two full size boats (and two smaller ones up in the rafters), enough insulation to do our whole two story house, a dismantled cold storage box, LOTS of tires, a full size Rice harvester, restaraunt equipment (2 stoves, a commercial dishwasher etc...) wood working tools, and gobs of other junk in there, some of it VERY large. (DH is a HORRIBLE pack rat!!!) Too much room for a "MESSY" to have free reign over! Yet we can STILL walk through there without runing into anything! (my critters also use half of one side for shelter-- and I have LOTS of critters!) I'm glad he has his "Space" though, that way he's out of MY hair!!! I just wish he'd get it ORGINIZED and CLEANED OUT!!! Have fun in your new shop! ~~Hugs~~ Tracy

I have seen those in Ohio and they are very nice! Good luck to you! They always seemed to do very well here. There is one lady that has craft shows at hers all the time and it does very well.

Hi again ladies...I forgot to say, my DH is a woodworker while he is laid off for the next few months...then I take it to the Farmers Markets in the summer....He makes potaote bins, baskets, shelves, and whatever we thnk will sell niceley inthe summers....Our Grandchildren work "with" Grandpa and LOVE IT! I useit whenever I have a project that needs "air" rather than inthe house....Its great, still a dirt floor, but, we feel its warmer than concrete....
so.............On witht he fun!!!(teehee)
