I was pulling out of a parking lot today with lots of traffic to and fro,
When I spotted something "glitzy" coming up the road.
I peered hard past the SUV that was parked blocking my view,
But whatever it was I saw was apparently gone.
Then traffic from the left and then from the right,
Car after car...it gave me a fright!
I finally pulled out and turned to the left
When a top-down convertible pulled up abreast.
I did a double-take and steered over a little
To make room for a red sports car all covered with glitter.
With presents covering the back seat all wrapped up with bows,
A white beard, shiny eyes and little red nosed,
yes, Santa looked me straight in the eye,
And they twinkled and crinkled as he waved and sped by!
So yes, it's true, I spotted Santa today,
In a little red convertible on a cold winter's day.
He put a smile on my face and bet he's still spreading cheer all through Ellensburg! It made my day.
