this is what i was 'up to' on a cold kentucky yesterday:

Sister Mercy's Foundling Home for Rag Chillun

a few little 'blue angels' flew into the orphanage yesterday
each little angel is 'hand-did' and is wearing an indigo blue calico gown with embellishments, wings and hairbows created from a vintage blue/brown plaid cotton. their hair is 'did' in natural flax .. olde button eyes, and noses from the backside of an antique quilt.

===================

TANSY is the 'wild child' of this bunch of 'country cuzin' angels ..
you might have to watch that she doesn't slip out the back door of
the church durin' sunday-go-to-meetin' services!

=====================

FERN .. a true and gentle little soul .. not a vain bone in her angel body!

========================

WILLOW .. the shyest angel .. she especially loves to read and take walks alone .. along a country road

========================

verbena is the 'motherly' type .. the other angels look to her for advice'and comfort.

===================

ha! i sure don't seem to need much sleep when i'm 'creatin' ... when i hear the call of a 'rag doll' .. i swear, it is like hearing your baby whimper at night .. a momma is UP and running for them to make sure all is well! (hank says that i've already lived the equivalent of TWO lifetimes because of my 'waking' hours). xo, frannie

Phew! Last week I shipped off the seven scarves I was knitting for family for the holidays! I also just made a bunch of cards for the mail art ladies, my first ones!

Now I'm getting ready to try out a knew knitting pattern with the beautiful local alpaca yarn I just bought! After all my cheap yarn projects I think I trust myself with some nicer yarn ... and I was so excited to find un-died 100% Alpaca wool from less than 20 miles from my house! How awesome!

The dolls were adorable and you all sound like my kind of women ... my partner makes fun of me and my eight million projects ...

I can only imagine how much worse it would be if I didn't have to go to the office every day ... or how much better.

Hope you all had lovely holidays!

Hi Michelle,

Pleased to meet you. I've been knitting a very wide shawl for my daughter. Didn't quite have it done for christmas. Yesterday, we mixed up potions in the kitchen while the men watched football. Made a sore muscle balm & other pretties.

Frannie,

As usual you have outdone yourself! Can't wait to get started on learning dollmaking! Woo hoo! More projects! It's so much fun to create.

I'd like to get in your brain sometime, but maybe there wouldn't be enough room with all the ideas you have floating around in there.

Yeah, don't try to get inside my head, it's crowded in here! Ha! Thanks for all the welcome, I feel all special now. *grin*

The problem is that all you ladies have now made me think, "hey I could make dolls too!" Aaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Will it never end?!

P.S. I love making potions in the kitchen! Just getting ready to strain my douglas fir infused olive oil for shoulder rubs ... did rosemary this summer and it's diviiiiiiine.
