Hi, Everyone...
My mom has asked me to let you know that she is back in the hospital. She hasn't been feeling well for most of last week, and started vomiting and falling over starting Saturday. She went to the emergency room yesterday, and a CT scan of her brain shows that the lung cancer has traveled there...an unwelcome visitor, to be sure. She was told that if her symptoms were better this morning after some rounds of steroids, she could go home this morning and start radiation this afternoon at her doctor's office. Unfortunately, she has had some seizures, so she can't go home. She hopes all the farmgirls will pray for her. She is especially concerned about her pen pal Bev, because she couldn't finish a letter to her because her grip on the pen was weak...if any of you know Bev's daughter ( I believe my mom said her name is Karen), and can let her know the situation, it would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning, everyone!
Yesterday was a long day, with glum news at the beginning of the day (4 separate tumors on the brain) to a glimmer of hope. The tumors are located in spots that are accessible to the radiation beam, and the radiologist feels he can target them easily. She will be going through a lot of mapping and tests this week, with the treatment to be next Monday or Tuesday...sooner, if he can work it in.
I stayed with her through the night, which helped her feel more secure, so she slept really well and woke up rested. As for me...those recliner chairs are not the most comfortable things!
I am headed to the YMCA to go soak in the hot tub!

Dearest Kelly,
You and your mother are so lucky to have each other. I remember spending the night in one of those hospital recliners next to my mother. She seemed well on her way to recovery the next day so she told me I should go home. But the next night, complications arose and I wasn't there for her. So when my daughter was recently hospitalized, I jumped at the chance to spend the night in "the best bed on earth."

Thanks for keeping us up to date on your mom. I have been thinking about her and wondering how she is doing. I will pray for you all. Sometimes when you are going through things like this you feel so alone but please know that there are people out there who love you and are praying for you and your mom. Take Care.

Good morning...
My mom is comfortable, and very optimistic about the radiography next Monday. She has a few tests today, and my dad is hoping and praying they let her go home to wait for the surgery. She has not had anymore seizures, and the Decodron (don't know if that is spelled correctly!) is doing an awesome job of keeping the swelling down in her brain.
She wanted me to thank each of you for your thoughts and prayers. You are all on her mind every day! Hopefully, she can get a message in here if she goes home.
