No matter what your political leaning, Barack wants to hear from you at http://change.gov

I went there yesterday and gave him my two cents. I also will be adding more as I think of it.

I challenge you to do the same thing. This is how change will be accomplished, from the grass roots. So, make yourself heard.

Thanks for the link.
I personally didn't vote for Obama. However, I did give him a piece of my mind in a respectful manner.
I truly hope that he does a great job, if anything, to prove his naysayers wrong.

Whoever you voted for, please keep our leader(s) in your thoughts and prayers at this time. We truly need it right now.

Pray that cool heads and wisdom prevail.

Thanks.

Thanks for that link, Shari. It actually felt pretty good to voice my opinion on a few concerns I have.

GREAT! I was not for him either, I think that's great we can "voice" our thoughts. I wish they'd be taken to heart!

It matters not whether you voted for him or not. What matters is that we give him our ideas, our concerns and our needs.

This is the first time I can remember that ANY elected official sincerely wants to hear from the common folk. Remember if enough of us tell him pretty much the same thing, we can effect change from the real grass roots.

A common thread I've seen amongst us farm girls is that any "bailout" should come directly to main street (not business, not banks, but US), so we can eliminate credit card debt, pay off medical bills, etc. Once that's done, we agree to cut up the credit cards and live within our means.

If you agree with that... tell him so. He needs to hear it millions of times!

I did vote for Obama and can't wait for him to take office! Shari- I am in total agreement with you on the bailout. I think if we got the money, the banks and businesses wouldn't be in so much trouble because we would be able to pay off some of our debts. Giving the bailout money to the banks and businesses does nothing for us! I'm going to have to voice my opinion on the site.

Ok, let's start a movement. Now that you've put your two cents in... find five or so friends to do the same thing. And then ask them to find five, etc.

This is an opportunity we've never had before, and the Internet is making it possible.

He's added another opportunity for you to communicate with him. Now you can lay our YOUR VISION for the future in several areas. Put on your "thinking/dreaming" caps, commit your vision to him. Together with all our visions for the future, the new administration will gain an understanding of rural America's needs, not just "perceived" needs.

Be sure to sign up for his newsletter, too. I have a sneaking suspicion we'll see more of a "what can you do for your country" than sitting back and watching "the government do for us". Remember, the most dangerous phrase in the world... "Hello, I'm from the government and I'm here to help you."

Thanks for the link. I voted for Obama and have been very impressed with how hard he is working as "President-Elect". I don't recall any other President-Elect working this much & hard before being sworn in. As an IL voter, I can tell you first hand that our former Senator does listen to the people and your words won't go unheard!

i hope that he does listen and i hope that he is fair to Everyone! i'm in that middle-income bracket and it seems that i'm not poor enough to get anything and not rich enough to be able to take advantage of loop holes...so all i ever feel that i do is pay. it's very discouraging, working hard to try and get somewhere and in the meantime, living within my means so that i don't stiff anyone. i agree with everyone about the bail out, i just don't think that it's right.

Well, this time he's really gone and done it!

He's putting proposed policies up and anyone... that includes you and me... can go in and MAKE CHANGES to the proposals. He wants as much participation as possible.

Here's the link for the health policy discussion... if this is where you have an interest, it's time to get in on "making a difference".

I wrote in with my comments and wishes for a successful term. Thanks for the link. I was surprised when I almost immediately got an email about the health care reform. I usually stay pretty far from politics and thought, oh no! what have I gotten myself into, but then I realized what a fantastic opportunity it is for folks to be asked to participate in forming systems of shared service whether health care or alternative energy industry or anything else that could benefit the country and the world. Remember the old saying - well, it's nice to be asked - even if one doesn't want to answer!

Here's even better news. They've now set up discussions on the economy. All you have to do is sign up for a free account with "intense debate". That's the software provider they're using.

The economy discussion is at this link. I've shared my story and concerns there, too.

There's more new stuff!

In keeping with full transparency to the American public, any and all meetings that have three or more people (except personnel hiring and security) are now a matter of public record. Not only that, you're encouraged to comment on the minutes of the meetings, the documentation submitted, requests made and policies proposed.

This has never happened before. It's always been done behind closed doors. Take advantage by going to "Seat at the Table at http://change.gov
