Frannie, no haven't been back to see the new building. I was back home by Watergate time, watching every thing on tv like the rest of the country.

I think I have heard of Gray ~ at one time, I could name all the assistant directors and tell you where their office ~ not anymore. Too long ago now!

I had a good time in D.C. Probably wouldn't want to do it again, but wouldn't have wanted to miss it either. You know? Lots of interesting things went on. I was such a "kid".

Did you know where Wiley's Ice Cream place was? The owner was a Maryland state rep. I also worked part-time for them. Made more on the weekends than I did through the week!

It was over in Maryland ~ I would have to look at a map now to tell you where. It was a fun place.

Frannie,

I too remember seeing the article about your home in Country Living. Have been to Ky. several times-it's a beautiful state. Where you are is sure different from Annapolis. My family and I live in Pikesville, Md. in Baltimore County. We get to Annapolis every now and again. I have to confess that alot of my decorating style came from Country Living Mag-I subscribed to it way back in 1978. When I married in 1982 I hauled all my back issues to our 1st apartment. 26 years later and I still have the antique bug! Thanks for sharing!

Blessings,
Bonnie

OH MY GOOOOOODNESSSSSS GRACIOUS! what a wonderful SURPRIZE we had when we walked through the kitchen door tonight from our trip in OHIO .. our friends (Kathy Sugarbucket and her dear husband Eddie) had been here and MOVED the stove from in front of the wonderful old stone fireplace wall .. so now .. it isn't covered up by a STOVE!

WHAT were they THINKING when they put it there????? we do have a MAGNIFICENT olde step back cupboard that 'might' go on that wall .. hate to hide the stones at all .. but what a great backdrop for an 1800's cupboard in our kitchen!

this is just one of the zillions of beautiful changes we have made to our farm since moving here!

now the fridge and the stove sit along the same wall .. making it look much more 'compatible .. than the black fridge just sitting there without any other appliances. i don't like 'new' looking appliances .. but it just all falls together beautiful now!

and what a magnificent wall now .. stone and log ... (needs a tad cleanin' .. but i'll do that tomorrow!)

a few more views in the kitchen .. with it's new 'mustard' floors and furniture and doo-dahs!

this is the 'baker's table' and the door leading to the big back porch

some of my antique 'cast-iron' collection hanging on the 'pantry' wall

white cupboard and olde red table with some 'prims' .. these sit to the left of the kitchen counter as you face it.

olde green table with more wonderful 'prims' (to the right of the kitchen counter.

IF/WHEN we put the cupboard in here .. i'll take a pic of it to post too.

Frannie, I just got done reading all 10 pages of this. The whole thread gave me chills. You are very blessed! How far are you from Olive Hill? Thats where my hubby is from. I have been to Ky once, and I'd like to go back to see his kin. Just a quickie to tell you the place is much more than amazing!

No Luna, I have not got your e'mails. Thankyou for your nice comments about my site, Love the Diaries. Wish there were a lot more, we think they must have been thrown out somewhere along the way. These were the only two that were found.
Yes Frannie, the new colors really show off your collections.
