Do any of you still work woth Plastic Canvas??
I remember one of the first times mom and I went to visit relatives in Canada and I saw the big sheets for the first time. I had NO idea what to do with it, lol They were not here, so completely new. But I also saw some leaflets with things to make, and I was hooked! Bought many sheets, a few of the books and got of making nice things like coasters, tissue covers etc.
Later it was "out" of fashion I guess, so threw the books away YIKES!! Stupid me!.

But the last time I was in the USA I saw the sheets and again bought a few, yippee. Now I have just started with making a few Christmas ornaments, slippers this time. Too cute. Will post a picture when I finish it.

So do you do Plastic Canvas work? Any pattern sites you like to visit with cute items? I am hooked again, lol.

OH and they STILL are not here, as far as I know DUH! So can make a couple of things and then??

Dutchy, I have some plastic canvas magazines listed under Marketplace! Ann e-mailed me that you were chatting about plastic canvas! There are so many cute patterns, but I know realistically that I do not need one more craft to get involved in! You ought to check online for plastic canvas! I don't know if shipping rates would be cheaper, but there is a lot of plastic canvas on ebay-U.K!

I think I have about 100 different plastic canvas books and patterns. I've been doing that since I was 14. I've made all kinds of things...way too many to mention. If you join Multiply, I have a site on there with a ton of patterns! There are thousands of people on there with patterns to share. Let me know whtat you are looking for and I can probably find it if I don't already have it! :)

Here's my Multiply page, let me know if it works and if you can get the patterns.

I love plastic canvas projects...it is actually needlepoint. It is very inexpensive and use just a little yarn and canvas is also inexpensive. Dutchy did you have one of us send you some yet? What kind do you need? It is about 3 for a dollar here for the large rectangle sheets....choices are soft, medium and stiff. Clear or several colors to chooze from. There are also shapes. I use a type of star shape that can be cut into several triangles, there are heart shapes, letters, etc. lots of fun!
I bought a book of a whole 2 story plus attic of Barbie size dollhouse. It has all the furniture sewn in tightly and made for a little girl to use and keep sturdy. I've studied it....but not made "yet"...very large and could be difficult. If I had a grand daughter I'd make one, one room at a time.
It's beautiful and 4 ft tall! LOL
My favorite are the miniatures and also Xmas ornaments done with shiny thread/yarn. All types of Barbie furniture and clothes or rooms can be made, even a horse for her to ride! The big long stiff dresses make Barbie look kinda like a bed doll...very nice to me.
I have made many kleenex holders...very fun to do with lots of themes.
Lets put some pics on here...what do ya think? Shall we have a craft-a-long of plastic canvas topic??

long time ago I also made many baby style stacking blocks. I'd make small enough for baby to hold and get larger. I'd put bells inside for sound and they are so simple that in colored canvas they don't even have to be covered with the yarn. I made lots of them for gifts when I first started plastic canvas.

A long time ago, I made a Christmas banner for my grandmother from PC. It was supposed to look similar to a long red ribbon with the letters for the word NOEL on it. I always put it up for Christmas - I should take a photo and post it. The funny part was, and still is, that I cannot make french knots. They are the holly berries on the leaves. So even though it was a gift, it wasn't much of a surprise because she had to help me with the knots!
