Morning, Ladies ~ I'm curious about what my sisters are most grateful for this year at Thanksgiving. As for me, besides family of course, I am most grateful for this move to Salt Lake City and everything that goes with it, my Farmgirl sisters, and my work.

I'm thankful I am able to walk again.
I'm thankful we finally have a nice roof over our heads again after 7 months of living on the rough side. I don't care that my current home is only 400 sq. feet, to me it is a haven and my creative side is definitely awake looking for new storage spaces or ways to maximize the storage we do have!
I'm thankful we moved to Georgia, I love the mountains, and our first Fall was just gorgeous!

Hey Farm Girls!!!
Patricia I am so glad that you asked this question because it made me realize that I am grateful for so many things in my life. I am a very fortunate person and am thankful for my family, my job, my "fur babies", my friends, the Farm Girl chat, all of the wonderful opportunities that I have had in my life, my health, my tiny farm, good nutrition, excellent medical care......the list is endless.

Patricia and all the lovely ladie here -
I am thankful to be right here. Last year at this time we owned a little house on a cobble stone street in Kansas and my husband (Lucas) worked at the university. I was thankful to be there. But Lucas was not finding the right fit at work, so we decided we would venture back home.
After leaving my home town seven years ago for college, marriage, jobs...it is so amazing to be back..with my husband. Working at the farm can't be described in words. We drive to work together and I spend the day touching bases with our amazing customer base, reading the most beautiful stories for our readers write section of the magazine and website. Then, I work with the most fabulous crew. All the farmgirls here are such fun!
Lucas and I bought an adorable little house in town this week. We spend our evenings playing board and card games. My brother is teaching Lucas how to hunt and all the other wonderful outdoor things to be learned at the farm. I am working on my freehand embroidery. Kate and I are teaching each other how to knit and cook. This is a very entertaining process!
And...my family. Last week I made a roast and we all gathered for Lucas' birthday. We laughed until we cried. We had such fun.
I am thankful for my family and the simpliest of things in life.

This Thanksgiving I have more things than I have ever had to be thankful for....... and for that I'm Thankful.
Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it.....unless they are spelling mistakes. |

I am thankful for people like my cousin's son Eric, who lost his life in the current war. If it weren't people like him and those who fought before us, I would not have the many freedoms I enjoy today.
I am also thaknful for my friends and family including those of you here!

I am so thankful for a God who loves me no matter what! I am very thankful to have been blessed with a hardworking husband, 2 beautiful daughters, and 2 fabulous grandsons. I am thankful for our home and the property that we live on -- each day is a blessing. I am thankful for all my friends and for all of you wonderful friends that I have "met" this year. Life is good!
The only time that housework comes before sewing is in the dictionary!

God is indeed good and am grateful for His daily blessings on me and mine. I am grateful this year for the wonderful young man God has brought into my daughters life. The famliy is getting bigger!

My family just left for home (I had an early dinner for extended family) what a wonderful time for me to have read this...Of course, my family and friends. Also for a heavenly Father that shown such mercy to me and mine this year. He gave us the courage and strength to return to Lake Charles after the storm and give a helping hand to those who were not as fortunate.
Last and cetainly not least...My 21/2 months with my husband after his surgery. I thought I was going to help him, but God worked a miracle in my life and taught me wonderful things about myself and my husband. |

I have so very many things to be thankful for this year (and every single year!!) and you all are one of my favorite daily wonderful things to be thankful for. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and a zillion (7) wonderful kids, and the cutest, smartest little 3 year old grandbaby on earth!!...not a bad one in the bunch! And I am so blessed with great friends, both here and other places. I am thankful that I have a wonderful little old fashioned town to live in and for my little mini farm. I am thankful for my little old house with all it's quirks. gosh..and thankful that we have all been so healthy...I have so much to be thankful for
that I can't even come close to listing..I am sure hoping you all have a wonderful thanksgiving with people you love!

O Lord who chooses all the people, all the circumstances that surround me,
I give thanks for the indomitable spirit of the American people. I keep thinking of what makes this country so great – the people. It is not our wealth, power or symbols of power that define us, it is that diverse group of persons who live, work, dream, aspire, pray, play, and mourn together.
Thank you for all the dedicated men and women of our armed forces and law enforcement, who are putting their lives on the line to protect ALL.
Thank you for my incredible hubby, without I still be the immature moron he met years ago.
Thank you for my wonderful boys for their constant inspiration to me to be my very best.
Thank you for each (((friend)))for loving me even when moron me resurfaces.
Thank you especially for my church tribe and fellow employees,who reached into their pockets to help after the storms, who believed in me when I didn't. It was one of the most wonderful surprises of my life.
And Thank you for reaching towards us... becoming One with us..and for the gift of New Life.Amen. |

| I am thankful for everything God has given me. I was provided with a job this week and am thankful that I will be able to pay my property taxes. I am thankful for finding this place to connect to other like-minded women and share their joys and sorrows, hopes and dreams. |

I edit our local Co-op newsletter, and I just had to ask to share this letter with you all. Rachel was tickled to let you see it! Even though it's a Christmas letter, it's got some great Thanksgiving sentiments.
Christmas Requests

Dearest Santa,
It’s been a long time since I wrote you. Decades, in fact. Now I am a wife and a mother. Now, for the first time in all these years I want to make you a list. Faith in you is once again alive in me, and I am so grateful for this that tears come to my eyes just writing the words.
My list is short but filled with trust:
1. During this season of giving, please help me to give from my heart. Remind me that my heart is soft and tender just like every heart. Please help me find ways to touch other people’s hearts gently, with reverence and respect.
2. When I, or my children, receive gifts from friends and family, let me feel the tender place in their hearts from which their generosity has sprung. Even if batteries and flashing whistles and toy-guns-made-in-China appear from under the glittering wrapping paper, tug at my core with the knowledge that the gift comes from the sweetest of human impulses.
3. Give me strength to live my truths amid the pressures of the season. Help me gently discourage materialism in our family’s life, while opening to other kinds of abundance--grace, love, and joy would be delicious, for instance. Let me foster the respect for our family’s interconnection and dependence with the rest of humanity and all Life. Remind us all at every meal--not just Thanksgiving and Christmas--the story of where our food comes from, who it has touched, and how its presence changes our world.
4. Bring joy and peace to our table.
5. Give me strength to make time for family celebration. Amid the baking and gatherings and wrappings and giving, bring me back--over and over again--to my family and friends, and those strangers everywhere who are sharing my journey. My sons’ great-grandfather passed away on December 26, 2001. Make sure I celebrate his life with my children.
6. When conflicts arise, as they do, let my connection to others gurgle up like a spring into plain view. Remind me that conflicts come only because I forget that the spring is always, always there even when it is buried beneath the earth. Show me that conflicts are a gift--a trigger to help me remember our unity.
7. Nourish action. When I see despair, injustice, or the tragic outcome of unmet human needs, let me help if I can. Inspire me with reason and clear steps toward the peaceful resumption of human dignity. If I cannot help, let me be gentle with myself and trust that you are working on ways to bestow your gifts, too.
8. And please, please, Santa, keep working.
I know you will pass on the cookies I bake for you, but let me give you this:
I believe.
And I know that is enough…

Hi all,
I'm thankful for my DH who loves me just the way I am (even though I'm always trying to be a better person). I'm thankful for two beautiful, strong-willed, kind daughters who grew up to be wonderful women (and for the great men in their lives). I'm grateful for my healthy happy grandson who hopefully will live closer to me for next Thanksgiving. I'm grateful for all my gal friends cuz we always support each other and try to help out when needed. I'm greatful for finding you folks who are all so interesting and caring. And of course, for MJ and the gang!
