Hi all!

This feels a bit like the first day of school, when you are forced to introduce yourself to a room of strangers...but here goes nothing.

I am Denise, from the Pasadena area of Los Angeles. I am probably what might best be described as an Art Deco farm girl, in that while I might not always share the more countrified aesthetic of farm girl-hood, I share many of the ideas behind it.

I craft, and sometimes sew, and I taught myself to knit this year.

I live in a tiny bungalow with some very small strips of yard, so I mostly container garden on my porch.

I also do a lot of things with 1920's -1940's events and so forth.

I think thats enough for now....

Nee

Denise, I lived in Altadena while I was going to art school at art center =) in the early 90's
Please be welcome and enjoy posting and making friends.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.
Congrats on learning to knit, I'm still trying and getting tangled up in yarn!

Welcome Nee from Missouri! Glad to have you here with us! I love to knit and have recently dug my sewing machine out after many years to start sewing again.

Welcome Denise!!
The 1940's is abolutely my favorite era for clothing - the one decade when regular size women were in style:D. If you have any leads on patterns from that era be sure to share
And all my kitchen stuff is 30's -40's or looks like it anyway
Hope you enjoy it here
