I found out the other day my little heifer is a Red Durham. There is a herd of them closer to town and have always thought they were the mosr beautiful cows ever. Such a deep red color.

Has anyone ever seen these cows or have any?

I am still not sure what the steer is but really doesn't matter. He's the sweetest guy. It's gonna be hard when the time comes. I borrowed a name from someone else. I call him Sir Loin.

Really? I do not know a thing about them. I guess I'll have to do some research, huh? How neat.

Thanks.

kris, i adore my cattle, especially my "sir loin" but having been thru this before one thing that sounds crazy but will help when the time comes is to look at him as steaks, roasts etc!! i watch my babies grow, handfeed them, brush them and give them the best life i can until the time comes for them to give us life by feeding us. also usually by the time they are ready to butcher they get a bit testy and a bit harder to love! lol. peace connie in alaska
