lol Dana! I was thinking the same thing! Only I don't have any chipped beef in the house. :(
My kids don't like it either, probly cuz I don't make it enough..
When I do make it, I have to make a small portion for just me.
But I haven't had it an ages!

Next time I'm at the store, I'll have to pick some up ;)

I do the basic recipe with the drippings, and add butter and flour then cook the flour and slowly add milk (whole or nothing less than 2%) and I also add pepper, Lawrey's season salt and sage.

Enjoy!

If you have a problem getting your gravy smooth (I'm sure noone but me makes lumpy gravy) Put the lumpy gravy in the blender and whip it up. Then put it back in the skillet to reheat. We actually prefer it that way because it is so light and smooth.

Belle, When I go to make gravey, I stick my pan of biscuits in the oven, then proceed with gravey, I have my flour and milk ready, then put the flour in skillet let brown as to how much we like it then pour milk in , I never quit stirring from the time I start. The stirring is the main thing about making gravey do any of you agree

This topic has definetley got me hungry for biscuits and gravy!!! I make it out at horse camp...brown sausage in a cast iron skillet over the fire, add milk, flour, salt and pepper to taste... alittle butter and heat until it thickens. Very simple but it seems to attract a crowd!!!
