Great selections, do you know if they actually use today's measurements for the recipes? Back then it was all done by hand. I have a few American Revolution recipes, it would be fun to try some Civil War ones as well.

Not sure how they measured ?? . I ran across those while I was out looking for old time fall recipes. There sure is some neat stuff on the web isnt there :P

Lisa - you're timing couldn't be more perfect - we are studying the Civil War this year for homeschool, my niece is studying it in 5th grade and my now-7th grader nephew became a total Civil War buff when he was in 5th grade. The kids will all be so excited!
