You're right, I don't believe it (especially if it had been me shopping...)! Just not in the mood or didn't see anything you needed? You must have major willpower...you go girl!

Congrats Ann! I too was at Hobby Lobby yesterday (are you sure we're not twins? LOL), but all I got was a spool of thread, some cotton batting that I needed for a Christmas gift I'm making from my fabric stash, and a lace knitting book I'd been hunting for so I'd have patterns for more Christmas gifts. The batting was on sale 30% off, and I used my 40% off coupon for the book.

Diana, I think we are twins! I always KNEW growing up I must have been adopted! LOL Acutally, all the stuff that interested me, I knew I already had either the same thing or something similar I had at home that should get used up. They had LOTS of papercrafting stuff that was pretty tempting, and of course yarn and fabric, too. And pattern books. It was almost sad. Hobby Lobby used to bring me such joy, and now... :( I guess I must have crossed some kind of mental border without realizing it, and now there's no looking back. (sigh)

I would love to hear more (and of course see what you make from) the lace knitting book. That sounds sooooo cool! And way to go on the sale and coupon!

Well, I resisted the 60% off coupon and stayed away from A.C. Moore. I've been craft fasting for 3 weeks now and I'm slowly going through my stash and realizing that I have more than I thought I did!! Ideas are swirling around in my head for holiday gifts with all this stuff needing to be used up!

This weekend there is a quilt show in a neighboring town. I know I would be sorely tempted by the vendors. I might even buy raffle tickets. I may see a quilt that would inspire me to start yet another project.
So I'm going to stay home and work on some blocks for an exchange I signed up for.

You go Judith! That way, you'll still "get your quilt on" (as my sister calls it), and get some work done too!

Okay, I don't know if this counts against me or not, but I bought some silk rods for spinning from Grace last week! She had only one of gold
and green ones left and I couldn't resist! I very little fiber compared to fabric! So I figured I should do my best to even it out!!!! Ha ha ha!!!!!

Monica, my husband says it's always o.k. to buy tools. He's a carpenter and I used to tease him about taking big pieces of wood, cutting them up into little pieces and then putting them back together. Then he pointed out at I do the same thing with fabric......

I went to JoAnn's last week and only came out with the ruler I went in for. Now my arm is sore from patting myself on the back :-)

Not me! I went to Michaels and Joanns on Sunday and shopped the sales....I have too many swaps and challenges for winter/holiday collage art coming up and not enough supplies!

But, Kim, if you only bought the stuff you needed to finish the UFO's (and it was less than 1/2 of the total materials for the project) that still counts... Also, check the dates on your receipts from when you made your last purchase - I'll bet you did it! Let me know - you were doing so great!

Well, I just have to tell you girls that something is happening to me...I am finishing up a t-shirt quilt for my son's birthday (21) this coming Sunday. I started this quilt when he was 17 so you know the story. Well, he's going to love it because the t-shirts are all from his sports he played through his years through high school plus memorabilia shirts we bought on trips and such. I can't believe how good this has made me feel to finish it and use up 3 big spaces in my closet...the bag I had the partially done quilt in, the batting package for a queen size quilt and the backing fabric! I think once I get this done I am going to start working on a sheep wallhanging I started a couple of years ago! I didn't have to purchase a thing for my son's quilt nor will I for the sheep wallhanging! I feel a cleansing happening. We'll see how far I can get on clearing out my started project stash. Off I go to sew.

ALMOST.....still have a ways to go. But reading up on you girls doing it is giving me inspiration to finish them!

Lisa, Great job!!!! I don't think I will ever get all of my UFO's done because they hide on me and just when I think I am almost caught up they come out of hiding!

Ann, you're a sweetheart to not give up on me quite yet! I've got some sort of momentum going similar to the one you had when you "purged" some of your stuff. I put together a box for the Goodwill over the weekend from my craft room and yesterday finished 2 big projects, my son's T-shirt quilt (did the ties to finish it) and finished my DH's Christmas sweater that I started in September. Woo hoo! Got the next project spread out on the floor, a flag for a friend's ranch with her logo and name on it. I'm on a roll and I can't stop!

Hey ya'll, I read the first page of this but have to get back to work soon. I have a big request for all of you who embroider. I take care of my friends parents up the road from me. Her mother used to embroider. She has a lot of things at her home in Montgomery, but came here straight out of the hosp. over a month ago. Probably won't get back to her home to get her things.

So my request is (and I hope this is ok to ask this) if anyone needs to get rid of any excess thread or needles or the roung things you put it in, she would love to have something to do.

If someone has stuff, you could e-mail me and I'll give you my address. She would love this!

And again, it just came to me when I was reading this and we had just been talking about getting her some things to do. And this would be a good way to purge, right?

Thanks, Kris
