It's that time of year to start making the Christmas card list, and it got me to thinking how neat it would be to flood our mailboxes with holiday cheer from our sisterhood. I'd like to start a Christmas card exchange, if anyone wants to exchange cards send me a email with your name and address and I'll add you to the list, which will be sent to all who sign up. I for one, love getting Christmas cards and exchanging with other farmgirls will be extra special! Sign up soon, taking names until the first! Ho Ho Ho........

I, too, thought I'd use the occasion of Christmas to begin sending mail art. Although I'm kind of a privacy nut, and haven't disclosed my name, and maybe it doesn't matter anyway, but I thought it might be time to say that my first name is Kelley, in honor of any farmgirl Christmas cards I might be privileged to receive. I look forward to the season!! |

Could we make a list of people who are lonely, or shut ins, nursing home residents to send cards to this holiday season? I have been thinking about this for days. I know we ALL know someone who gets very little or no mail during the holidays..mine would be my Mom who is nearly a shut in and has no friends and no family left but me and my kids.If Kate could/would make a master list (sorry Kate, but you guys insisted on that idea) and if we could each send a couple cards from it..the recipients would get cards from all over the country..
WHAT DO YOU THINK GALS? We could start with Finngirl's mom who is so ill with cancer... |

Hey Farm Girls!!!!
I am Jewish and don't celebrate Christmas, but my dear friend Elva, who is fighting her 4th bout with cancer, does celebrate, and I would love for her to get cards. I told her that I would put her on the farm girl prayer list; she was so grateful. She is a wonderful person who has suffered a great deal through her life. She has no family other than her elderly mother. I know that it would mean a lot to her to know that women around the country were thinking of her and praying for her. (Would also like to mention that while handmade cards are truly lovely, she would appreciate any kind of card.) Please let me know who will be maintaining this "special list" for those in need, and I will email you her mailing address.
Also, I would be happy to send out cards to those on this list.

I don't know anything about mail art but it seems that this may just be the time to hop in. We're newly transplanted to the country and don't know hardly anybody around here yet, so I would love to do a Christmas card exchange. Where's that mail art list at????

Just e-mail kate@maryjanesfarm.org and tell her you want to be included on the mailart list. Provide your name, complete address and logon name. She will add you on.

Since you are new and probably not on the mail art list yet, just e-mail me your address and I will add you to my list so I have it when I start my X-mas cards.

Hey Farm Girls!!!
I have not forgotten about sending my friend Elva's snail mail address, but I need to receive her permission to do so. Will let you know when I hear from her. I suspect that when she is having a bad week in terms of her health, she does not spend time on her computer.

Hey Farm Girls!!!
I just received permission from my dear friend Elva to post her mailing address. She was soooo touched that the Farm Girls are thinking of her and praying for her. If you will email me privately, I will forward the email of gratitude that she sent to me. She is a brave woman who has suffered greatly. She has already won 2 battles with breast cancer and 1 battle with lung cancer. Her breast cancer has returned, and she is currently fighting this battle once again. She is only in her 50's so she has spent most of her adult life fighting cancer.
Here is her mailing address:
Elva P. POB 720882 Dallas Texas 75372-0882 USA
Please don't worry if you don't have the time to make a homemade card; any sort of greeting would be really appreciated. I would love to see her mailbox flooded with prayers and good wishes.
Thanks so much; I appreciate this more than you will ever know.
Connie
