My Confederate Rose botanically known as Hibiscus Mutabilis is in full bloom. It is gorgeous! The large, double flowers open a lovely white color and toward the end of the day, they change to pink and then to red. Very easy to root from cuttings or seed. I have not tried to propagate from seed yet.
Who else grows this lovely plant? Do you have pics of your flowers?
Hi Caron, Do you not have any growing near you? If ya want, I could send you some seed pods when they are ready and you can try to grow them from seed. Or maybe I could send you some stalks to try and root. I know they would grow where you are located.

I've never heard of confederate roses before, but I just looked them up on the Internet. They are really pretty! Are they more like roses or hibicus? Some of the photos look just like red hibicus.
Here is a link to a very nice picture. This is exactly what my flowers look like right now. They start out white and then turn pink, some might turn red. They are not true roses. They are wild hibiscus. I believe the plants originated in China and must have came over with early explorers.
