It's been about a month and a half now and after three rounds of med's I am better as far as the sinus infection/cold/flu deal but still have no energy or feel good. I did not respond to the first two sets of of z-paks and finally after missing so much work and getting worse - they put me on the most powerful antibiotic other than putting me in the hospital on an IV. The symptoms are better but have left me totally drained with no energy and my ambition is wiped out. It seems to be a struggle to get through a day, I just have to make myself go and do.

Sweetie that sounds awful. My daughter just went thru something real similar to this. Have you been checked for mono? I will be thinking of you.

Did they check for you Epstein Barr Syndrome? I was diagnosed with it almost 6 years ago when I was two months pregnant with my third son. It still can reoccur and knock me for a loop. It does take awhile to get your strength back after being so seriously ill. I really hope you will feel better soon.

Susie- I and hubby have the SAME symptoms and have been tested for everything under the sun. Doctor actually told me it was just from being a new mom to I am just crazy. We will go like weeks being ok and then WHAM!! It's like the flu but 100x worse and for a very long time. I have achey joints, like almost what I assume arthritis would be like and we get soooooooo tired. I have been doing some raw food and as I posted on the other forum about my other bowel problems, I think dairy and caffeine, including coffee, tea, soda, etc. are triggers. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I just had a bought of this and it is exhausting and frustrating to say the least. (((HUGS)))

Okay, if your CBC (white count) is up, then thats infection. Something somewhere is causing your cellcount to climb. I'm not a nurse, but there are other farmgirls who are who maybe could point you in the right direction. I'd trust them a 100x more than anyone else. If you have any kind of infection they should've given you something.

Thanks everyone for each reply. I have lots of questions when I go back to the doctor. So far, my energy is not much better. I feel a little better in some ways but I also have the soreness/achy in my shoulders that hurt and have been living off mineral ice it seems. I am thinking about asking for a referrel to a specialist and see where that leads. I am so ready to feel at least half way normal again. Keep your replys coming as it gives me advise on what to ask my doctor when I go back.

Good luck with your next Dr. appointment. I hope you get answers to all of your questions! It's so frustrating not knowing what the problem is.

Have you found out anything else with your bloodwork? How are you feeling? A sinus infection or any URI can make you feel awful, but as someone else stated, so can mono/Epstein-Barr virus and fibromyalgia - also could you have been exposed to any ticks and gotten something from them? Please let me know how you are feeling - it is awful when you want to do so much and your body is just too tired to let you do it ;(

Susie, those antibiotics you were on just killed off all the good enzymes and good bacteria in you digestive system. Missing all those, you will feel awful. You really need to replace those. Lots of yogurt will help, but will take time to rebuild what you lost. I think they have stuff in capsules now to replace all that. You'll need to check at a health food store. Don't put it off. You REALLY need to replace what you lost as soon as possible. You could also possibly have a yeast infection now, too. Not fun.

I'm not trying to give people more to worry about, but if you have been chronically ill with achy joints, etc., have you been tested for Lyme disease?

My friends dad came down with pnuemonia, and was having a hard time kicking it-they did bloodwork and found out he had Lyme disease on top of it.

My friends mom had been feeling ill and achy on and off for a while, and then she found out that she also had Lyme.

Then, an older gentleman that I sometimes volunteer with was just diagnosed with it-he is quite ill right now

These are all just in the past two months. Anyway, it might be one more thing to rule out.

SusieQue,
So sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope things get better every day. Have you tried nasal washes or nettie pots for your sinuses? I haven't tried them myself but have heard good things from doctors and sinus sufferers. Best Wishes
