It was sleet last night, and this morning the grass is covered! We are supposed to have snow for the next 3-5 days!! BRRR The house is freezing! Looks like I need to work on those insulated drapes!

Alee, I saw on the weather channel last night ya'll were supposed to get snow! And the Id. girls, too.

Ya'll are probably so used to snow there. When we get it here or even hear the word snow, people panic and rush to the stores so fast and buy up all the bread and milk in no time. It's so funny! We don't get much snow here, thank goodness.

You'll have to dig out the long johns and warm coats now!

Stay warm! Kris

I love the snow, I just don't like driving in it. It can be a pain, but I really prefer a four season climate. I've lived in the heat and humidity, I'll take snow any ole time, lol

I love it too. I don't drive but it can be scary to ride through. I love the 4 seasons as well. I've lived in the south and in California for a bit and I would rather have discernible seasons than not.

I know Alee. I didn't want to get up this morning. It was nice to just cuddle under the blankets and look out at the snow covered trees and grass. This will be my first winter in Billings.

Bundle that cutie Nora. Missed her yesterday. See you on Sunday.

It was snowing here this morning, but now it seems to be just rain.
It's not sticking to the ground yet is what I mean. Ben was suppose to gather cows today, put thankfully that was called off, to darn cold

Stay warm in Billings!

Yep, we got snow here, too! I just posted pictures on my blog of my yard yesterday when my big ash tree just suddenly DUMPED all of it's leaves in one day. That was yesterday, mind you. Today, we have one inch of snow, so far. In 3 days we went from summer, to fall, to winter! So, I just posted the snowy pictures on my blog, too. For those of you yearning for snow - here it is!

Over at my house we have accumulation of about 3 inches. I have the heater cranked up on high to heat up the house before Nora gets up since we don't run it when she is up as it can burn her feet. This is crazy! I can already tell I really need to winterize my house!

Sounds like you need to get busy, Alee. We have 13 degrees right now and it'll drop a couple at sunrise. We normally run both woodstoves when it gets this cold, but we weren't expecting it and the kitchen is REALLY cold this morning.

Talked to my neighbor in Mosby - she said it had been snowing all day. I was surprised at that because that area ususally gets less snow than others in MT. And so it begins...............

I was getting ready to post a new topic asking how everyone's fall is looking (leaves and etc.) and then I see you all have moved on to snow in Billings already! I can't imagine.....our leaves are just starting to turn and our nights are getting cool enough to open windows. I think it might be fun to look outside and see white.

*cries* We didn't get any snow here in Coeur d'Alene!!! My *cough* LAZY *cough* husband hasn't finished our chicken coop!! It was 25 degrees last night! I packed the girls into the coop with a ceramic heat emitter and blocked off the holes where the windows and doors are going to be. Thankfully they were cozy warm this morning.

Maybe if it snows it'll get his rear in gear.

Or maybe I should just put them in his room :-P

We definitely haven't had any snow lately. The other day there was buckets of rain, but for the most part this week has been really nice. This morning the ground was icy and slippery though. I expect it will be very old here by Halloween.

It is starting to get really cold here in the evenings, I wore a hoodie sweatshirt over my nightie last night, three quilts and a few cat hot pads always help. Unfortunately I knocke d the whole storm window off my bedroom window ( this is when i rescued a kitty from the porch roof.) I'm just too frigging old to climb out on the roof and fix it. I'm hoping to get my son out here for a few hours to give me a hand with all the winter preparations.I too am making window coverings, even if you just make light colored ones it helps to reflect the heat back into the house. There are an awful lot of windows in this house....I'm really enjoying the spectacle of the leaves, they are so lovely this year...

Alee, we lost power earlier today. A lot of tree limbs have fallen down on the lines and streets up here. We decided to take a ride instead of just waiting for the power to come on. The power came on as we left but we still decided to take a chance and go out and see the snow. Had fun. John's Jeep is totally covered in mud.

Burrrr! I am reading your post and already dreading the ice and snow. We had a beautiful day here in Missouri, sunny with a light breeze and in the uppers 70s. The leaves are turning and I wore short sleeves as I scoured wool and picked up walnuts today. I know snow and ice are going to be at our door knocking soon and after reading about the cold temps and snow...I better get the house winterized. The old timers are saying we are going to have a very rough winter because the nut trees are loaded. Also the persimmons are getting ripe and one of the gals told me that they looked inside the seed of one and it was double spoons.

Well our yard has about 6 inches of snow. Luckily we haven't lost power. I am not sure if our furnace would stay lit or not, thought I suppose it would since I know I have turned the power main off and they stayed lit all through the summer.
