with my last head cold i was also plagued by our good friend sinus pain!!
i took my crock pot, filled it with wet washcloths (which were partially wrung out) and set it on low. i had a renewable source of warm moist heat to apply to my forehead as i lay on the couch in misery. it worked great and i bet could be used for other things. a home health nurse told me about this years ago.
