I read this a few years ago and I think I will read it again. IT SAYS- Between 1785 and 1812 a midwife and healer named Martha Ballard kept a diary that recored he arduous work. In 27 years she attended 816 births as well as recording her domestic life in Hallowell, Maine. This is a really good book and you gotta wonder how they got by at all back then. NANCY JO I'LL GO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE BOOK AND PUT IN ON MY SITE.
Thanks for the book recommendation and also for the paperbackswap website.....never heard of that one. I will check it out! thanks girls! I'm not a midwife but I did not get out of bed this morning...so what does that make me? Don't answer that....
