Just enjoying taking in the sunshine with a nice fleece going thru my fingers and the dog at my feet. (And a wander to the computer from time to time! ggg)

Just finishing up laundry, picked up around the house a bit, and going to head outside since it's such a beautiful day here.

Alee, after all the homework I've done and helped with over the past how many years? Oldest is 29 and the youngest just left for college. I'd say I'm pretty burned out on homework! Don't envy you one bit.
I made dh a big breakfast, did dishes and have been working on grape jam for the past 2 hours. There has just got to be an easier way to remove the seeds than just squeezing them out with my fingers! This is taking forever.
Laura (82KYGal) called me from Miss Wilma's place. She said they were all talking about me! So she decided to just give me a ring. They all hollered hi to me. My package hadn't arrived there yet, but Jonni said she called and they were going to bring it right over. They are having a blast.
If the rain stops, I'll take the opportunity to go pick more apples for apple juice (still haven't done that).
Soak some beans for tomorrow's dinner - potato and white bean soup.
Aunt Jenny, I can just smell that bread. Mmmmmm

Oh..you reminded me I need to make bread...in the bread machine. This morning I went to recycling, picked up a prescription and then came home and cleaned up the house. I went out and watered outside...our weather is gorgeous but no rain like some of you, I would be grateful for some rain. I went out and painted some trim and now I'm back in. Guess I'll go make that bread now....the jam and grapes and apples...all of it sounds like great things to be doing except for the homework Alee!

I had a good day...my college roommate - whom I haven't seen since her wedding six years ago - drove an hour and a half with her two little boys and met me at the cider mill here in town. Local apple cider, homemade doughnuts, and a day with an old, beloved friend. What could be better? |

Apple cider and homemade donuts sounds divine. We had our LInner Picnic, the boys played at the playground a bit while I worked on a scarf for my mother. Back home for ice cream sundae's and the husband is chopping wood again. I'm going to clean up the kitchen then go load wood into the pile. I love seeing that stack of wood go higher and higher. We were very blessed this year to be the recipients of 5 large old oak tree's, after our elderly lady friend had them cut down. Instead of the tree cutters taking them to the dump, she paid them an extra 25$ to bring them to my house. That was last January, and now they're nice and dry and good for the cutting. The husband is only chopping the "smaller" pieces, anything bigger than 3 feet across will have to wait for a splitter, and another guy friend to help out. But this wood he's doing now will hold me till he gets back from Mountain Warfare Training. Well, back to life! P~

I am so envious of all you people that got rain today. None here in several weeks. Could sure use a good soaking.
My GD Kansas spent the night with me. We had fun. We had to go help a friend get hay in her barn. Kansas chased barn cats and fed a pony hay. She woke me up at 7:15 this morning ready to go. Been going all day.
My daughter, her mom, came and spent most of the day here waiting on her hubby to get off work just up the road from us. So we went out to the garden and picked squash, collards, beans and peppers. She went and got the other 2 granddaughters. While they were gone the SIL came and helped give my calf a shot in the rump. I couldn't do it. Nice to have help. He was going to band him, too, but I think we should wait til he's feeling better.
I cooked a big dinner, the kids played, they all left and it's just me again!!!! I love it , but it's great when they go home. I'll have Kansas probably all week for Fall break.
