How much do you charge? What do you provide and do you carry equine insurance? How much is it? I am talking on a small scale. We have 6 stalls in our new barn and want to board a few horses. Not a giant facility.

I've boarded my horse for a couple of brief moments in time. I was asked to sign a liability waiver as well as give proof of insurance so that should my horse end up out on the road they wouldn't be held accountable (providing the reason the horse was out was due to it jumping or crashing through fences.)

Self care at the arena around the corner is $150 per month. Nothing is included, although the owners are now providing labor for an additional $75. That gets you a stall, use of the indoor arena, and turn out with other horses.

I believe folks are charging anywhere from $300-500 per month for board up here, but not sure what all that includes. Most have covered arenas for their boarders (we get a lot of rain.)

I would think getting insurance would be a good idea if for some reason it's found you were negligent (fencing in poor repair, someone forgot to close a gate, etc.), but be sure to put up one of those signs and have a form to sign releasing you if they get hurt while playing with their horse.
