Tammy, I wanted to see them, but DARN dial up! I can't see videos. Anyway, There are all kinds of places to order chickies. And I personaly think Fall is the best time to get them. They will be laying then by Spring. But my feed store guy doesn't order in Fall. So I have a neighbor down the road who has an incubator. I got him to do 3 dozen eggs for me a few days ago! In 3 weeks I'll have more to start over with. I have Barred Rock. So that is an option if you can get hold of an incubator and some fertile eggs. The only problem with this is you'll get a lot of roosters. But then there's your fryers in about 5 months!

I love my chickens so much! I wouldn't trade that cluck therapy for anything.
Funny story, I have a retarded cat. Something happened to her before I got her and letting her outside just isn't an option. However I do have a 10x10 dog kennel that I let her hang out in and eat grass. I had her inside the kennel with my pug and they were relaxing in the sun. Well, I go do some chores and what do I see when I get back? 5 banty chickens, a pug, and a cat all laying together in the sun!!! How cute is that!?!
The bantys squeezed through a crack in the bars so they could hang out with my pug and cat!

Well, the Chickens have been back...again and again..lol I guess they like me :) I do enjoy watching them. I think they are too funny when they are scratching and pecking!lol The kids want a few, but I'm worried what my cats might do.
