Anyone have any great tried and true recipes for preserving concord grapes/making things out of them that can be canned? I've done lots of grape jelly, but still have many more grapes (and have given lots away!) Thanks for the info!
One things to use up grapes when you have alot of jars is making "easy juice". It IS sweetened, but is easy and yummy and tastes wonderful in the winter when something "fresh" is wanted. You put one cup of clean whole grapes in the bottom of a quart jar, add 1/2 to 1 cup sugar and fill with boiling water. fill to 1/2" from the rim of jar and seal with flat lid and ring as usual. Then water bath can for 30 minutes. THATS IT!! This will make a tasty concentrate. I add one quart of water to a pitcher and then strain the contents of a jar into the pitcher too..makes 1/2 gallon of juice. EAsy peasy!! I happen to have alot of quart jars and love when I get extra grapes..this is tasty!
Jenny, just tried the juice today finally! It is DELICIOUS! and easy (understatement!) My kiddos are home from school sick today and they've been drinking it right up! Better make more!
